Asking questions was the gentlest she could be when it came to trying to get people to think. She would never, ever come to blows. She shied away from making demands. She asked things, with genuine curiosity, but she still had to be so, so careful. Sometimes her word choice was wrong, or the way she moved her face, or her tone.
That was something that caught up with her outside of these tense situations, too. She wasn't a natural at speaking the way that some people were, or at getting her intentions across.
She was getting better, but then wen you added Chaos to the mix, there would always be someone who saw her as condescending, awful, maybe even something worse.
She carried her scars from those people.
"I was just curious, what you knew."
She heard a noise behind her, and saw the woman shift. She was not awake, not yet, but Pendour could see it happening soon. She thought that of all of the situations that she could wake up too, two people arguing about cosmic entities might have been one of the more jarring options.
Slowly, Pendour raised herself back up to her feet.
"If she's waking now, then I can be on my way."
Since she felt that it was either going to be both of them sitting with her, or neither, she could be the one to trigger their leaving. She would just have to see if the General would follow. She took a few steps away, then stopped again to watch him.
She knew there was still a chance he might linger, or try something just to get under her skin.
"I liked getting to talk to you, though," she said, and she meant that. It was always a blessing when interactions could be peaceful like this.
