Doesina 8 Doesina followed the shorter woman, moving her tall frame closer against the side of the shop they had been standing outside of. Through the window she could see an assortment of things on shelves, most of them small ornaments or other such trinkets. Perfect souvenirs for a trip back home or a small gift for someone. She was sure her mother would appreciate something from Jauhar. She made a note to check this one out before she returned to Heike.
"So it's not something you've done for long. I see." The fact Earthlings didn't always train since childhood for something still astounded her. As soon as she could hold a dagger in steady hands, her grandmother had been drilling her on different techniques for holding and swinging it. What was normal to her was probably strange to this Shifter. "It sounds like a fun thing to learn if you get to see different places."

Maia 9 The embarrassment started to subside, to be replaced by an uncomfortableness. Maia didn't like that she had shared so much with this stranger. She would never have admitted to anyone that she wasn't feeling confident about something. But something about this woman, whose name she didn't even know, made her feel like she could tell her anything and she wouldn't be judged by it.
"Um...No." The fidgeting resumed. "I probably should get back to my shopping. It was nice talking to you, uh....I'm sorry, I don't remember your name." Or even meeting, for that matter. Maybe she was being mistaken for someone else.

Doesina 9 "Sorry. How silly of us to not have done that first," Doesina giggled, rocking slowly on the heels of her feet as she felt the conversation lighten up once more. "I'm Doesina." She stopped moving and looked around her at all the small groups of Earthlings who seemed to be enjoying their day together. Turning back to the Shifter, she flashed her a wide smile. "Since I travelled from my homeland to another, maybe I could help you? I do know by now what would be good for a trip or might not be. If you don't want the help, that's perfectly fine. I understand."

Maia 10 Maia's fist instinct would have been to say no. She didn't usually enjoy prolonged company, especially in busy places like she currently was in. She felt tired and drained already and she'd barely begun her shopping. At the same time, getting some help might make the whole experience go faster. The sooner she was done, the sooner she could find a quiet place.
"Sure. Can't really say no to an offer like that." Though she was sure she had a good enough understanding of what she might need. She had been all over Jauhar, after all. It wasn't like she was some city Earthling who suddenly decided to go running around in a new environment. She spent most of her time out in the woods, sleeping under the canopy and eating food cooked at her own fire. She always packed a variety of different tools and random things for the journeys, just in case something should happen. How much different could Oba be? Other than being a desert and having different wildlife, she had confidence in herself to quickly learn how to navigate it.

Doesina 10 "Ah! Really?" She had expected to be rejected. Maia seemed like such a quiet, introverted person, Doesina didn't want to intrude on her space. But her curiosity was stronger. She wanted to learn more about this career the Shifter was pursuing. History was a very important subject and she had a lot of respect for anyone who was out to preserve it. "I know the best place to start!" And without letting the other woman get a word in, the Elaria grabbed her new friend by the wrist and pulled her along behind her, heedless of the started gasps coming from behind her.
