“Oh, I love cake!” Ephesus chirped enthusiastically when she suggested it, and giggled when it was about the same time as Amarynthos said he loved cake too.
Amarynthos was right though. They did have an unfair advantage. He didn’t need to wear their matching earrings to know what Amarynthos was thinking, and offered him an encouraging smile.
“I can give you mine as well, but. We’re usually together anyway,” he admitted with a light flush to his cheeks. Even if they didn’t live right behind each other, Ephesus would prefer to hang out with Amarynthos. Especially after everything they’d gone through.
“And when you’re ready to power down. Or change back to how you are normally,” he started, and then closed his eyes to show her that it was a good idea to concentrate. “You just think about who you are, and the magic should fade.”
As he spoke, the aura of a Knight disappeared, leaving a teenager with the same shoulder length blond hair, although he wore a light weight blouse and high waisted shorts that had been embroidered in a couple places with little flowers.
“I’m Atticus. It’s nice to meet you!”

Ekstrom beamed her usual bright, cheerful smile, when they both said that they loved cake. “Well, that worked out, didn’t it!” she laughed lightly, quite relieved that they accepted her offering of cake. They both even offered their cell phone numbers, which added on to her relief and blew away the anxiety of not being able to find them in the future. Communication rings had now been added to the pile of new things for her to learn about, and that was fine but oh, the questions that were coming to mind!
She was planning on putting together a list for next time.
“That would be amazing, you two,” she said, “I will honestly probably take you up on both of those offers. Full disclosure, you might also get a lot of texts about taste testing some new recipe I tried, but feel free to ignore those.” Again she flushed a faint pink, then shifted her gaze to Ephesus when he mentioned how to go back to her usual self, because that was definitely something she wanted to ask about before they parted ways.
She watched in silent curiosity as Ephesus faded away and was replaced by a blond, teenage boy dressed in a really cute outfit. She fought the very strong urge to squeal and pull him into a hug, because boundaries, and she followed suit. Closing her eyes, she focused and thought about who she was.
Sure enough, when she opened her eyes she was Mel again. Normal, non-magical, still-in-her-work-clothes Mel.
“Nice to meet you, too! I’m Pomelo,” she greeted in turn, “but everyone just calls me Mel.”

“Pomelo? That’s such a neat name, I’ve never heard it before,” Amarnythos said, with an air of honesty about him. He wanted to look up what the name meant when he went home, just out of curiosity! Mel was easy enough to work with, though.
As Atticus had, the guise of a Moon Knight faded away to leave just him. He wasn’t dressed as fashionably as Atticus; he had jeans and sneakers and a pale blue button down shirt. His sleeves were already rolled up, partly because it was warm outside, and partly because he wanted everyone to see the cute bracelet he was wearing.
Atticus had made it, and while Elliot’s clothes were more practical than cute, the bracelet absolutely looked like it was meant to match him with Atticus’ outfit.
“You can text us all you want, we won’t ignore you. We love taste testing.” He held out his hand to shake, and properly introduced, “I’m Elliot. It’s nice to meet you, Mel.”

Oh, Pomelo was such a nice name, but so was Mel. They both seemed to fit her perfectly. And he couldn’t help but laugh good naturedly when she warned them about lots of texts for taste testing, and nodded in agreement with what Elliot said about not ignoring her.
There was definitely a lot more they could share, and Atticus definitely wanted to make sure she had some resources available to her before they parted ways. But for the moment, he just wanted to appreciate that they found someone so nice and that she ended up being a knight too.
