Oh, he needed that kiss. He looked up at Michael and then startled, because he realized his eyes were then immediately drawn to the necklace he was wearing. He tapped at his chest, as if to indicate Michael should hide it. Removing it was not an option he considered, but he just wanted to be careful and ease Lucien into this.
He took the blanket gratefully–and kissed the back of Michael’s hand as he did so–and then fluffed up the blanket before laying it across his lap.
Devyn was multitasking; he pulled out a metal water bottle and unscrewed the lid so he could pour some water into it, and in the process also withdrew a few little snacks from his sleeves. Most of the treats he’d brought were from Earth, and the packaging made that obvious enough. He opened the peanut butter crackers and set them by his leg; if Lucien didn’t want them, he would.
“I’ve got water for you here when you’re ready. I’m going to pick you up, Michael’s got a blanket for you here.” He didn’t wait for permission, and lifted Lucien in the way he’d been doing since he was a child. He was gentle, and smoothed his hand down the Mauvian’s back as he did so, but he knew he’d be more comfortable with something a bit softer to lay on.
“You’ve been gone for a while, I suspect your body needs some time to wake up. But we’ve got food and water, and I can carry you. You can’t remember? I wonder if you hit your head. Your pod was a little beat up when we found it. Michael had to dig you out of some rubble.”

Michael saw the look on Devyn’s face, and then the gesture to his chest. The necklace was more or less a part of him now, so he hadn’t even thought about it, but Devyn had a point. Luckily it didn’t seem to draw any memories from Lucien yet.
Or maybe it was why he seemed so suspicious about him.
He carefully tucked the necklace under his clothes and gave Devyn an apologetic look. He wanted to make things easy for Lucien, but there was only so much they could do before breaking the news to him. Lucien didn’t like the way Devyn said that he’d been gone for a while. There was no specified time, which meant it could have been longer than a year.
He didn’t argue when he was picked up, and quickly made himself comfortable on the blanket. He eyed the snacks that Devyn pulled out, and sniffed at the water before drinking from the lid. It wasn’t that of Alastor, he knew that. His memory might have been horrible at the moment, but he knew what was common on his world.
He glanced over at the pod as well. He wasn’t so dazed that he couldn’t see how vines had time to grow around it.
But that was a question for later. Right now, he thought resting was a good option.
“Perhaps I did,” he agreed, and shifted once more to make himself comfortable on the blanket.
He knew something was off. He knew Devyn was likely trying to spare him from heartache, but there was already so much of it that it shouldn’t really matter.
He didn’t ask for permission to take a nap. He simply closed his eyes and hoped his memory would be less fuzzy once he opened them again.
