He didn’t like that they’d found any evidence of Lucien there. Sure, he could have suggested that it was someone else who’d left the piece of metal behind, but Michael wasn’t going to challenge Devyn’s intelligence. Nor would he push the boundaries of his optimism.
Now that he was looking for it, there were other scuff marks along the smooth walls, and a chip in one of the pillars that led down a path they hadn’t come from.
Michael pressed his lips together in a frown as he stood and took a step towards Devyn.
“What do you want to do?”
They could obviously keep looking now, or they could come back some other time when they were more prepared. He didn’t think he could rest until they found out, but it was Devyn’s call.
