“You’re easy to trust,” she insisted with a smile, and brushed her dress out when he set her down on the ground again.
She gasped with excitement when he asked if they should try to find the dragon guy tonight, and part of her wondered if he was saying it to try and let her down easily. Maybe he needed a break and wanted her to be the one to suggest they meet up later.
But she didn’t want to wait. She was having too much fun, for the first time in a long time. And Meninx was enjoyable to be around. She just hoped she didn’t wear out her welcome too quickly.
“If you would like to tonight, I think it would be fun! I’m not tired yet, are you?”

Relief flooded through Meninx and his shoulders eased a bit when she said tonight.
He didn’t know why he’d been worried about anything, she seemed like she was up for anything. Of course she wouldn’t be tired, she was radiating with energy. Maybe it was contagious.
“Tonight sounds good. And that fruit you picked isn’t going to be any fresher than it is right now. Might as well see if we can pawn it off on him for something good before it starts to go bad, right?”
Besides, who knew how long that guy was going to be there for, and if he’d have anything worth trading for if they waited too long?
…Not that Meninx was even in the market. He was just here for the ride.
