"I was raised with my troupe so, no, not really." He could see the indecision flickering across her face and Selim felt for her, really he did. "For me it was easy. My troupe is all I've ever known. I was born into it, raised with it and going outside of it would feel awkward, like you going in. Still..if it's something that makes you happy and you can make a life with it I don't see why you shouldn't do it."
He offered her a softer smile. "Better to be broke and in a job you love than wealthy and trapped."

"You're pretty smart, you know that?" She offered a more subdued smile and reached over to help clean some of the messed up cheese off the table. "Sorry about grabbing you like that; I get excited sometimes. Seriously though, thanks for the tips. It means a lot to know that someone outside of my family thinks I can do this."
She wasn't sure how long it would last or if she really would make a living out of it, but Zerynthia wanted to try. She owed herself that much.

"How about this? If it's not raining tomorrow you and I can work out some kind of show. I'm curious now to see what kind of displays you make, and if we're lucky I can talk my brother into helping out." While he wasn't sure if Cyril would want to, Selim was sure he could at least barter a favor for a favor. There was just something about her that made Selim want to see it through.

For a moment she let his words process before beaming. "I'd really like that. I'm sure we can make something they'll never forget!" And she could even invite her family. If they saw her working with professionals then maybe any unease they felt about her traveling alone would fade. It was worth a shot, wasn't it?

While they ate the two proceeded to talk about ideas for a show, even if it was much looser than anything they would make the next day and Selim couldn't help feeling nostalgic. It was odd, being this far from home and yet in the company of someone so like minded. Maybe he could even see if she wanted to travel with them? They'd have to drop her off before going to Yael but at least she would be safe and they might have someone else to talk to beside one another.
Only time would tell.
