Xariy's grin widened at the mention of the strange plant, immediately distracting her from the plant she had been bothering as she wandered over to it. The thought of throwing them gave her a sick glee, the mischievous thought turning over in her brain. Maybe Layn would like it as a distraction like he had been speaking about. "I think I will buy some of those plants. If the smell is the only harmful thing then it should be fine. No eating, obviously, but for entertainment it might be really great."

"Mmhmm." Still, Alinta wasn't about to protest if Xariy wanted the plant. "Just make sure you don't linger in the fumes, it can really turn your stomach." She had witnessed it once when the twins had been experimenting with their grandmother's garden that was supposed to be off limits. Alinta shook her head at the memory before the old man hobbled back into the shop again.
"Find anything else?" He held up a covered basket. "Got some nightshade right 'ere." He nodded towards Alinta. "Few extracoins and you'll be good to take the basket with it."

"I'll take those and these things then," Xariy offered, holding up the stinky bomb plant and also motioning to the nightshade. While she hadn't expected to get anything at the plant store she was pleasantly surprised with her purchase. She slid the coin over to the merchant before Alinta could pull out her own, holding her hand out for the basket. "The goods then, and if they're not what we asked for I will be back to settle up with you," she said simply, smiling at the shopkeep.

Alinta blinked in surprise as Xariy took charge, but she was more than willing to let it be especially since the shopkeep seemed to take her quite seriously. He counted the coins thoughtfully, nodded and then handed over the basket to the Oban. "Take care. We've never met once you leave this place." He advised, probably something Alinta figured Xariy already expected so that the words were meant mostly for her as she did stand out a bit in the area. Was it so obvious that she was new to shopping in such a place? Alinta pursed her lips and simply nodded herself before heading towards the doorway.
"Thank you, Xariy." She murmured. "I can pay you back for the nightshade once we get out of this market, maybe after we find a spitorog." She was already this far in, may as well return the favor if she could help in someway. That much Alinta was determined to do as she prepared to spend the rest of the afternoon seeking out the strange creature for the Oban who had helped her out today.

"Don't worry yourself over it I don't mind helping you out. Besides, we're friends now. So take it as a treat. An investment to see what your mother comes up with!" The way out of the alleys was easy enough for Xariy, her old hunting grounds still familiar despite her leaving the life behind. It was nice to know she could manage so easily, though worried it did put a target on her. "So now what? I wouldn't wish to keep you if you have places to be. I know hanging around when you have more errands isn't the greatest of times."
