Xariy joined in his laughter, hugging him tight as she rested her head atop his. She believed he could really be whatever he wanted to be in life, and she would support whatever that ended up being even if it didn't include sneaking. "I think you would be! With a friend's help! But even if you're not I love you and support whatever you do, my sweet," Xariy reassured, rubbing his back.

He stopped his wiggling as she pulled him close, and Layn rested his hands on his mother's arm as he closed his eyes. It felt very big—supporting him in whatever he did—but her saying so was a comfort anyway. "I love you too." It was almost a reflex to say, so he stopped and made absolutely sure he meant it just as much as he had the last time. "I'll make sure I only do the coolest stuff so you'll be extra proud."

"Anything you do will make me proud. It doesn't have to be cool. But if you do things that are super cool, I'll just have to be super proud too. As only the best supportive mom could be to one of her favorite children!" Xariy responded, eager to see just what her little one was capable of. "So tell me some of your big ideas then. What does my love wish to do?"

"Well..." If her support felt big, thinking about his future in any serious way felt even bigger. "I guess I want to make people happy. I like when Linnea laughs. And you. And Papa. And Niyna too 'cause it's harder." He wasn't sure how sneaking fit into any of that, he just wanted to be good at it because it made him feel special. "I want to climb things and... make confetti." Layn laughed.

"Making confetti for the world to make people smile is a good way to see that others laugh and are happy. Just be you. Vibrant and kind. That is all I could ever ask for, and I am always so proud of you. As is your papa. Even Niyna, even if she doesn't show it much," Xariy reassured, hugging him closer.
"But you don't have to worry about that all right now. You have time, my love, and when it comes you will be the best you can be. I'm certain of it."

"Mm. Yeah. Sounds good." He vaguely knew about jobs and earning money, if only because they were serious and kept the adults busy. Layn squeezed Mama's arm then leaned away, looking up at her. "You wanna play hide and seek?"
