(8/10) That witch!! Tavihe should be annoyed or put out, but instead they let out a bubble of laughter, accompanying a rather unseemly snort. They didn't move to stand to follow the captain; meeting the leader of the ship didn't mean Tavi was gonna start following the poor woman around like a baby, even if her company was preferable to a lot of the rougher people who shared their cabin. Even with the insults, which very well may be honest and exaggerated.
But she really was a pretty thing, wasn't she? Tavihe hoped the Captain wasn't a mind reader, and didn't notice Tavi sneaking an appreciative look as she put herself together. "Me? Questioning orders? I'd never dare, Cap!" They put a hand to their heart and swayed with the ship as if swooning, winking up at her with a jovial grin. "I'll just have to ask 'im to be gentle with his crushing. He's not a bad looking bugger, I think I could be very convincing~"

When the ship swayed Xenia easily fell along with it, her hips rolling with each dip of the wave and bits of her curls bouncing near her drooped ears. In the beginning she'd flopped and slid all over the deck but now she barely felt a thing.
"Tryin' your hand at flirtin' with a Vryhx?" She couldn't help the chuckle that slipped out. "Haven't seen many give that a try, but I'd be interested to see if it keeps you from getting your head bounced off the deck." Tavihe was definitely a cheeky little thing, and maybe that was a good thing. Everyone could use a 'distraction' from time to time and the two of them were young enough to flirt around a bit. So long as it didn't get out of hand and cause problems.

(9/10) Tavi, once again, nearly slid along with the ship, and had to grip at the rails to keep from slumping over. They were far less equipped to handle the bumps and shuffles of the ship but, at least, they didn't suffer from seasickness like many of the new recruits did.
"A what now?" Tavihe squinted up at the captain, then took on a wickedly pleased look. "You go given' him exciting names, you're only gonna make me wanna do it more." Judging by his surly face, Tavihe expected that teasing him would only manage to get them beat up all the faster. But if Xenia was going to get them bruised up anyway, they might as well seek out a much more fun method of getting bruises, right?

With a snort and a grin, Xenia reached over to give Tavihe a playful shove. Of course how was she to know another wave was rolling through...It was completely coincidental! A few passing crewmembers gave a snicker of their own; at least, until Xenia gave them a look and they kept moving. "Vyrhxi live in the volcano on Yael and are massive, armored beasts with so much heat inside them that they can set fire to the air just by breathing."
She hadn't really thought of the connection at first, but after getting to see him in action, training on the decks with the rest of the crew, Xenia settled on the notion. "If you tell him about it you didn't hear it from me."

(10/10) Tavi beamed shamelessly, and would've taken the shove easily - only, the wave AND shove sent them sprawling with a squeak, clutching at the railing in the brief flash of panic, where they thought they'd fall overboard. The snickering from other crewmembers earned them a crude gesture, but Tavi recovered easily enough, huffing.
Ohhh. That DID sound a lot like the large, looming hybrid they'd seen. Tavi nodded along, conspiratorially leaning in closer. "Doubt he'd believe me anyway. But I like it." They agreed.
It was nice, to feel like the boss was giving them special training. Tavi just hoped it didn't put a big ol' target on their back to the rest of the crew.
