"True..." They might not even be able to find the rest of the hive. "Okay lets do that. Lets go back home, make a box, it should probably be pretty big huh? Should we grab maybe a pot instead of a box to put the pine needles in so we don't accidentally set everything on fire? We'll need to grab a blanket to wrap around the handle though so we don't burn ourselves. Should we tell an adult so they don't freak out when they see smoke?" They had a pretty good plan, Sylas thought, now they just had to do it.

Cyrus nodded. "I think it's a good plan." He was being completely honest as well, this wasn't like one of their reckless pranks either. Perhaps it was because of the swarming bees and the potential of bee stings that both of the teens were on their best behavior, but it worked. Cyrus just hoped that they could pull it off without any major issues.
"Okay, so we'll go back make a box and when I grab some pine needles from the healer I can let them know about the potential smoke." Cyrus smiled towards Sylas. "Looks like we have a mission to go and capture some bees." Once they caught them then well they could figure the rest out later. For now he just wanted to move forward back to the village and grab all the materials they needed. "Let's go before the bees decide to resettle in the village."

With a quick nod to his brother, Sylas rushed off on his own mission. He was supposed to build a box and meet him back out by the bees. Easier said than done. Sylas had done some handy-work around the house but he wouldn't say it was his forte. He started looking in the storage shed for some spare wood and maybe some nails. Having found both, though he wasn't sure he had found enough wood. He unfortunately hadn't found a hammer and didn't want to bother anyone else. He found a rather sizeable rock and started trying to make a box...but made more noise than anything else. Behind him, Sylas heard a door open and he looked over his shoulder like he'd been caught with his hand in the cookie jar. It was one of the ladies who worked in the tavern and she was eyeing him, wondering what he was up to this time. "I'm not trying to prank anyone promise! So we uh found swarm of bees and I was trying to make them a new home because we don't know what happened to their hive so yeah uh.." The lady rolled her eyes and turned around towards the back of the storage shed and brought out a crate that they had received some supplies in. "Boy, just use this. Don't hurt yer'self tryin' ta build somethin'. You'll want some smoke ta calm the bees. I'll grab ya a kettle, burn somethin' in the kettle that way ya won't burn yer hands." Sylas smiled widely at her and took the things she offered her. "Thank you! I appreciate the help!!" He rushed back towards where he had left his brother.

So since he couldn't find the healer in time, Cyrus had just opted to go ahead and gather some pine needles that was by the bridge leading back out towards the clearing. He was almost finished when one of the rangers who was off duty passed and paused in confusion at the sight of the teen gathering needles. "Pine needles, Cyrus?" He questioned with a raised brow curious about what the teen could be up to this time. Cyrus had an armful of the dried needles that had fallen around the edges of the path where he was waiting on Sylas, and the teen looked a little more frazzled than usual while pondering this whole bee situation.
"Yeah." Cyrus nodded. "There's some bees and we're hoping to smoke them out."
"I see." The ranger pursed his lips thoughtfully before glancing around, "There's some fallen tree branches over there that should be dry enough, you're fortunate it hasn't rained recently. That sandalwood smokes up really good and smells fairly good too, I'd try it." With that he saluted Cyrus before going back along the path, probably to go pass out at home since he was returning after night patrol.
Breaking off pieces of the dried branches, Cyrus gathered as much as he could carry with the pine needles cradled in his arms. "Sylas!" He called out when he saw his brother rushing over. He thought he would have to go back and help him with the box after gathering needles, that was awfully quick! "I got needles and even sandalwood for smoke...what all is that?"Was his brother carrying a kettle too?

"Uh, stuff to help?" Sylas said in a matter of fact voice when Cyrus asked what he was carrying. "I was going to build a box and then it was pointed out to me that I could just use a crate that we had received supplies in instead of wasting the good wood to make a poorly constructed box..." He face felt a little warm recalling how poorly his attempt at making a box had started. "But this!" He said as he held up the kettle, "One of the ladies at the tavern said I could use this to hold the smoke so we wouldn't burn our hands! And then the smoke will come out at one spot too!" That seemed like it would be pretty useful to him. "Oh. So...did we bring anything to START the fire with?" He just realized he hadn't thought of that before hand. He didn't normally carry around any flint with him.

"Pfft, I would hope so." Cyrus replied, only slightly rolling his eyes at the response from his twin. At least he had come back with some really helpful things. All he could do was grin quietly as Sylas explained the situation, the teen nodding as everything he explained made sense. At least they had been fortunate enough to get help. "That works for me. We can update the box later if we need to do this again." Hopefully not, right? Though then again maybe capturing some bees could have its use.
The next question though took him completely off guard. "Start the fire?" He blinked in surprise, Cyrus not even thinking about the actual action to start a fire for the smoke. "You don't have a flint on you?" He began with a frown, pondering their options before remembering something. "Oh!" Cyrus nodded towards his sash where he hid satchels to carry some smaller items. "Ana said that since we always get into things we never know when we'll need a fire." That was right! He had almost ignored her and totally forgotten about the gift from his oldest sister. "I think there's flint in the supply bag, but my arms are too full now. Should we just go set up and then I can pull it out once we get back to the clearing?"

"Yeah that sounds like a good idea! We'll get things set up but still a little away from the bees so we don't get stung." Sylas made his way back towards the bees and once he was close but still not inside the swarm he set the box up with the lid open. "OH maybe we should put some flowers in there to help lure them maybe?" He grabbed some flowers anyhow and placed them inside the box. "Do you think that's good?" He asked his brother.

"Yeah, I would prefer to avoid being stung." Agreed Cyrus as he followed Sylas, his gaze sharp and focused as he made certain that the bees hadn't drifted over to the area they were currently going towards. Once they got to the clearing again he dumped out the pine needles and pieces of sandalwood. "I'll put this in the kettle..." He listened to Sylas while he grabbed at the kindling mixture he had and started to place it inside, tucking whatever he could to make certain they would have plenty of smoke. The last thing he wanted was some angry bees!
"I think we may have to try to put them in the box ourselves....but the flowers could help?" He tilted his head thoughtfully before deciding to just go along with it. Cyrus was just worried that the smoke trick wouldn't be enough, but surely others wouldn't have suggested smoke if it didn't actually work. Now that his arms were free the teen could dig out the little satchel from his sash. "Let's see...here's some flint and steel. You want to make a spark or should I?" For once he was thankful that Anahita was super prepared and always trying to make sure he had something useful on him at all times. If not they would have had to run all the way back to look for a way to start a fire!

"You can go ahead and light it." Sylas said. Maybe they should have picked up a pair of gloves for each of them. Hindsight was 20/20 though. "Here, I'll take the kettle though so you can use both of your hands." Sylas held the kettle opening towards his brother. "I wonder how much the smoke is going to affect them...I've never seen anybody do this before. Fingers crossed that it actually works though."

"Okay." Cyrus nodded, his hands pausing thoughtfully as he seemingly caught onto the same thoughts as Sylas. Gloves definitely would have been a good option in this moment. "I have some bandages for emergencies...would wrapping our hands first be smart?" He asked, hesitating and setting the the flint and steel down for a moment more to pull out the bandages. If they wrapped their hands it would give some meager protection which was better than none, right?
"I think once we get the smoke going we can wait a bit and see how it works. Probably best to walk around the edge of the swarm with it as a test before getting too close." The wind could carry over some of the smoke as well, if it was in their favor today.

"That sounds smart, honestly. I was just thinking it might be smart to have some kind of gloves. I should take some pages from your book, you're so prepared. Then again...that requires forethought." Sylas laughed at his own expense. "Okay, I'll start walking around the edges of the swarm then, let me know if it seems like it's not working or if the swarm seems like it's moving back towards home." Slowly Sylas approached the swarm with the smoking kettle, like Cyrus had said, it did smell a lot nicer than burning just pine needles. It seemed like the swarm was settling a little bit, not so angry sounding.

"Well, it is mostly because of Ana..." Replied Cyrus sheepishly. His sister was always managing to catch him with things even when he tried to hide in a corner of their home to read! Still, he quickly finished up with the makeshift gloves and watched as Sylas took the smoking kettle towards the swarm. It did make him nervous to watch his twin approach the edges of the swarm, but they did seem like they were settling. Some flopped down on the ground while a few lazily drifted along after Sylas.
"Looks like you have a natural knack for taming bees!" Teased Cyrus as he watched his twin. "Keep it up and we should be able to get them in the box soon!"

"Sisters." Sylas said with a laugh. It did seem to be working though so he continued to go around the swarm. The bees did seem to be calming, some of them landing and some of them were following him. Once he had gone around a few times he started herding them towards the box and when they finally were close enough, Sylas knelt down and started gently picking up the bees and placing them in the box. It was slow work, but it was working! "Well, I think we have most of them, we should wait for the rest to follow suit, right?"

"Yeah." Cyrus started to get closer, following after Sylas and carefully scooping up a few bees to put into the box as well. "I don't know if they'll drift in there on their own so we may have to just wait while the smoke keeps going to box them all up." He expressed after a moment, picking up a couple more bees that had dropped next to his feet.
"Once we finish boxing them up then what?" He found himself wondering, not certain where to relocate the lost hive. "Oh! Are there any hive pieces?" They could look around to see what could be recovered and maybe move it with the bees.

"You're probably right." So they would just have to do it the slow and steady way. "I don't mind sitting here and getting them all in the box. Would you mind looking around to see if you can see any of the hive? There might be more bees with it too. But I do think if we can find at least part of the hive it will help a lot." They would have to figure out where to put the bees, that would be pretty important. "Do you know of anyone who would know more about bees in the village?"
