Kaelan made a noise, because he had been paying attention to Orein but he hadn’t been paying attention, and while he was debating on what he wanted to encourage Orien to talk about, he’d been going over a checklist of all the things he needed to do between today and tomorrow and–
He yelped when Orien kissed him, and he didn’t even try to wriggle away because that was infinitely better than thinking about all the chores he needed to tend to. Maybe they kissed for a few seconds, or a minute, or an hour; his head was swimming by the end of it, and felt all light and fluttery.
He thought kissing Orien might always have that effect, and he couldn’t ever imagine getting tired of it. “I don’t know if my heart can handle many more surprises.” Oh, he needed another kiss. It wasn’t as long or as passionate because he remembered they both needed to breathe. “I don’t know. We should finish eating.” It wasn’t like they couldn’t eat it cold, it was just so good right now. Orien was better, though. Had they locked the door? Wait, why did they even bother putting on pajamas. He should have seen how this was going to go.
Being responsible was so hard. Maybe they could just figure things out along the way.

Orien had put on his pajamas because that was what Kaelan said to do. Sort of. He remembered that Kaelan mentioned pajamas, and doing what Kaelan said was better than staring into space, trying to figure out what he was doing.
If they ended up coming off again, then that was fine.
He kept Kaelan’s hands above his head, flashing him a wicked grin before leaning close to n** at his neck.
“You taste so much better, though,” he teasingly protested. He knew he really should let Kaelan eat. He would make it up to him. He would run out and get him ice cream or something after. But how could he resist when Kaelan was just so cute and sweet and perfect?
Besides, he knew Kaelan wouldn’t regret it if they happened to take a break from eating to do something else for a bit.
