When she saw the tired teen move toward the log Ika reached for a water skin in her bag and handed it over. Then, just to show her it wasn’t poison, Ika opened it, took a drink, and handed it back. The entirety of it earned her a shake of the head and a laugh before Ilsa grabbed the waterskin.
“I do now, but I didn’t always. I grew up in Jauhar, as close as our family could be and still be safe, but when I started training, I sort of shifted over.” Ika motioned toward the log. “Got any room for me, or is that pushing it for today?”

At first Ilsa wasn't sure if she was being handed water or liquor. The thought of poison had never crossed her mind, but she'd seen enough drunks along the road that she'd grown wary of 'water' skins. Hesitantly she gave it a sniff and when no smell came with it Ilsa took a drink. Thankfully it was just crisp, cool water that helped to cool her internally.
While she was drinking Ilsa reached over to pat the empty space beside her. After her thirst was manageable, the teen lowered the waterskin with a contented sigh. "I miss the colors of Jauhar. It was darker on the jungle floor, but it never felt dark. Not like it does here."

"Yeah, I get that." She missed the colorful fungi that clung to the trunks of their massive trees. Seeing the different ways moss could grow on Yael was interesting on it's own, and while she didn't hate the area it just made her all the more eager to return.
"This is the first time I've gone more than a few days away from home. It's been a journey to say the least." There were a lot of ups and downs, but Ika was grateful for the experience. She'd had plenty of chances to visit her grandfather and his family in Belrea, but had declined every time. Maybe now she would? It wasn't likely, but at least it was more of a possibility now.
"What about you? You normally live in Chibale, right? So where else have you been?"

"It's sort of the same for me. This is the first time I've ever left Jauhar." She very nearly said Chibale, but caught herself. There had been that one day where she'd left her Aishan community for a date with the most exciting earthling but beyond that Ilsa remained at home. It was where she felt safest and until she'd been asked by Yejide if she had ever considered traveling she just didn't.
"I think I'd like to see more of the world. Once I've gone back home for a while, anyway."

“When you find yourself back in Jauhar hit me up. Maybe we’ll hit the road together or something. Can’t hurt to have a travel buddy, right?” She doubted her mentor would want to leave Chibale so soon after coming back so having someone she knew around would make it easier. There would be an extra set of eyes, someone to talk to and just generally someone to split the bill with.
Honestly, that’s what she cared about the most. Ika wasn’t the best with finances.
For now though she was content to just sit and enjoy a little bit of downtime with the Aishan.
