He had to look away at her compliment, using the silent excuse of watching the zanteer to mask his deepening grin. It hadn't ever been important that anyone appreciate his clothing, but Estellaina's words delighted him more than he was expecting. "Yes, very soon," he told Jeladi, feeling only mildly silly for speaking directly to the animal. "Surely there's a shop around here that sells such things." Zhan assessed the paths ahead, gesturing down the one that looked brighter and more significantly populated. "That way, perhaps?"Finally looking at her again, he added, " "I'll be sure to pick up something nice for myself when we have our ship. A reward of sorts."

Estellaina was pleased by his reaction, smile playing at her own features as she glanced down at Jeladi as well. She considered Zhan's comment, curious to know what he would buy as a celebratory reward for accomplishing their goal. She thought another piercing was always nice, or maybe even some new vests. Either way she would be eager to see it on him. Though he could perhaps purchase an instrument too. That thought was the one she focused on as she looked his way again. "I will excitedly await whatever you get yourself." She wandered into a colorful looking shop, humming off key as she peered at anything that looked collar adjacent.

The shop had an eclectic selection of clothing at its entrance—an immediate test of Zhan's self control—but he ignored its pull. Once they moved past the shirts and shoes, things started to look more promising. This area remained as neat and aesthetically pleasing as everything they had passed, and the merchandise grew to encompass everything from fishing equipment to parasols. Surely there would be a collar here somewhere. "Do you see anything interesting?" It wasn't like he couldn't see everything she could, but maybe Estellaina would notice something collar-worthy that he hadn't considered.

"You're interesting. Does that count?" Estellaina teased, chuckling to herself at what she perceived to be a funny remark before she wandered over to one of the shelves. She picked up a small hand mirror, brushing her thumb over the floral pattern on the back of it and peeking at her image. It still felt bizarre to see the lack of glow coming from her eyes, and so she quickly put it down before moving to more promising items. "Some leather bands over here, but I'm not sure if they'll fit around his uh....large head."

Zhan laughed, crossing to the leather strips she had pointed out. "It might. Though I don't think I could comfortably ride around a zanteer's neck without causing all sorts of problems." Speaking of, where was Jeladi? If he was going to try on collars, he was going to need to stay close and behave. "We are both interesting around here. It wouldn't be as much fun if we were an average pair." Zhan hesitated slightly at the end of his comment, replacing the word couple with something less suggestive, but as soon as he did, he couldn't help wondering what her reaction might have been had he said it.

Jeladi bonked his head against the back of Zhan's legs, trying to force him forward in the small aisle. Estellaina moved over to the two of them, snatching up a band and attempting to fit it around Jeladi's head as he bounced around out of her grasp.
"We could never be an average pair, that is true," she smiled before a slight oof of a noise escaped her, Jeladi bowling through both of them and Estellaina onto her back. "He does not appear to like the collar much right now."

He very nearly fell as well, forced to wobble on one leg and flail his arms around to regain his balance. It took far too long and he looked infinitely ridiculous in his mind, but in reality it couldn't have been more than a few seconds. Once he had his feet under him again, he crouched beside Estellaina, looking her over with efficient intent before speaking. "Maybe we can ease him into it?" Zhan smiled. "Are you all right?" He offered a hand to help her up.

Estellaina flushed and grabbed Zhan's hand, scrambling up to her feet and away from the rowdy zanteer. Which in turn put her closer to Zhan. She huffed out a laugh, turning slightly to watch as Jeladi got bored with his current chaos and moved to sit next to the two. "Yes I am fine. Thank you. Sorry he....is a bit much." She worried if they would make her get rid of Jeladi, but then thought on the fact that they would hopefully have their own ship soon. "But we got what we needed, yes?"

"We have. We should probably move on." Maybe if they spread out the disruptions, no one shop owner would go so far as to kick them out. "You're sure you're okay?" She looked a bit flustered, though now that he was watching her so intently, he thought it might be because he was crowding her. He took a half step back, still looking into her eyes. On the one hand, it was a shame that their glow was fading, but getting to see the color underneath was an experience. "Sorry. I promise I don't doubt you. We should pay." He held out his arm once more and started back toward the exit.

Estellaina was curious by his movement away, but didn't focus too much on it as she took hold of his arm and followed him to the exit with Jeladi close on their heels. Making her way to the shop keep she pulled out her pouch, sliding over the payment and trying to look much more innocent so the shop keep didn't charge more. "Now that we've gotten our purchase, what do you wish to do? Food? More shopping?" She'd do anything to stay away from the ship a bit longer.

"Shopping," Zhan replied without a second thought or, frankly, a first. "The window variety. I have to practice my self control." He smirked. "I think I will wait until we're back on the ship to eat. Unfortunately." For now, the desire to have a ship of their own was still stronger than his need to eat a meal that didn't include fish. "I'm thinking boots." The pair he had been wearing during their whole underwater adventure had never fully recovered.

"That's true. Saving money is really really hard. I don't think I like this much," Estellaina grinned, peeking into one of the shop windows they passed. She had come to realize in their travels that she had a particular....fondness for jewelry. One that had grown a bit out of hand despite her not having the money to spend on it. She wondered if this was how pirates were made, but thought maybe not. Maybe thieves? But she was of course no thief. "Boots are a good plan. Maybe if you're nice someone will give you some as a gift."
