"It was great," Siel's smile curled at the ends. "There's a lot of promise in your playing and it really looked like you were enjoying yourself." And honestly, that was the most important part. Of course Siel hoped that one day she might be able to hit certain notes without hurting his hearing, but taking joy in it was the real goal.
"Gotta admit, when you said you had a surprise I wasn't expecting that. I thought I'd walk in on some kind of three eyed monster or something with a big bow around it's neck."

Fiadah nodded and ducked her head a little. "Thank you. I.. I'll admit, I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I do. I'll never be as good as you, but I'm glad I have it to have fun with." Especially when she ended up getting stuck with a strained leg or something along those lines.
"Three eyes?" She cocked her head slightly before she burst out a laugh. "I doubt baba would let me keep something like that in the house. Plus, I would never subject a creature to a big bow. Gotta go with smaller ones that are less likely to catch on things."

Siel wandered closer to his niece and gave her curled locks a little toss before crouching next to her. "First thing about music; don't compare yourself to other people. I'm better than you now because I've had longer to practice so maybe one day you'll be better or maybe you won't. " He shrugged his shoulders with a little smirk.
"So...wanna grab a snack with me and find a place to kick back for a while until they come home? I ran out of road snacks somewhere on the border to Sauti and last time I went foraging the berries did not agree with me."

Fiadah gave a hesitant smile back. She didn't suspect that she would ever be as good as her uncle.. but that was fine. She was good at other things! Still, the encouragement was appreciated. And speaking of things she was good at.. "Oh! Nimia and I made a pie yesterday! Fish Eye Pie!" She spun and skipped toward the kitchen. After a few steps, she tossed a grin over his shoulder. "Actually, it's berries from the garden. No tummy aches, I promise!"

"...Fish eye pie?" Siel couldn't hide the way his face curled, even if he did put on a 'brave' face. "Oooh sounds yum- Thank the Gods." He caught her explanation just in time and felt the tension leave him.
As he got up to follow her Siel wondered how Fiadah would handle a real fish eye pie. He couldn't pull it off with Nimia, she would panic, but maybe if he could find a suitable substitute to spook Fiadah...
Well, it was worth a shot.
