Well the stakes just got raised hand't they? He smiled, He was rather too valuable as part of a dangerously effective set of three to ruin. There were big perks for effective family members. But Kechiri was capable of coming up with tailored punishments. And she was stealthy like her Dad. She was actually quite terrifying when she wanted to be. He grinned. Delightful. He lived to entertain.

Surely they were being overdramatic and trying perhaps to teach her a lesson. They were overstating their fear response but even her pulse quickened at the rap rap rap of Kechiri's boots. The girl held absolute command as captain on her ship and Iorhel thought she looked very much like a proper girl boss. She shivered a bit. This was so exciting.

This was stealing a little peice of his soul, they should have tossed the runt back into the sea from whence she had come, but instead they were risking his job by scurrying around like little rats. This was his only job prospect but then there was the fear of negative relations with the crew that he would be spending an inordinate amount of time with. Ugh. He couldn't tattle or it would make him a target.

Moving right along they kept two steps ahead of Kechiri, using their many eyes to avoid the disaster that would happen should she spot them. Signals were passed through hand movements and subtle sounds. There were many extra things on deck and that made hiding easier. They were just about done with the tour which was good because he was going to need a darn nap after this stress.

He breathed a deep sigh of releif when they finished. He helped to lower Irohel back over the rail to the sea below. She was strong if she could swim all the way out here she could totally make it back with no problem. Everyone born in Matori seemed to be able to swim early, the only one he knew of that didn't was her Mother. He grinned down at her and waved cheerfully.

She grinned her thanks back and released his hand falling back in to the sea and a refreshing swim home to dry off and then raid the kitchens for food. She would no doubt be starving by then. She waved when she was back on the beach before disapearing up the path. Just another find summer's day.

Finally she was gone and he could get back to business as usual. She definitely had spirit. But he really needed this job and that was what he needed to focus on. It was the only way he could eat without having to steal from others. Even if the food was less than steller on longer trips it filled his hollow gut.

He slapped Ama on the shoulder in a friendly way. "Know that was hard for you but good job." He left it there, not wanting to aggravate frayed nerves any further. The whole thing showed that Ama had some character at least and that was good enough for Kellye at some point. "Come help me fish."

He went gratefully back to his job and worked away merrily. He was grateful for the distraction , it had gasp, just about been boring on deck and he couldn't have that! It was a great day to be at sea. This was doing nothing but awesome for his already huge self confidence. He strutted like a rooster for a bit when no one could see and a little where they could.

The way home went well and she visited her favorite critters before going to get the food. She was extra hungry from all the activity but checking out her cousin's pirate ship had been so very worth it. She was ready to face her studies now that she had gotten in some adventuring. And the consequences from her dupped babysitter.

He nodded at Kellye, appreciating the recognition as unexpected as it was. He followed after the other boy and set up his own rod. Some fishing was just the thing to calm everyone down and look busy and maybe even have some fun! He forgot kinda what fun felt like.

It was coming up on his turn for shore leave and his thoughts besides that occupied with fishing and keeping conversation with Ama were already turned to the future. Perhaps he would go on some adventures inland and see if one of his friends would make the trip to Jauhar with him to see about their little fishies. He would avoid his family areas and all would be well. He missed the jungle.

Well he thought that maybe Iorhel had gotten some of the curiuosity out of her system. Though he also knew it wouldn't be the first time she took a calculated risk. She hadn't been in mortal danger and adventure was always good for a young spirit. He would have to confer with his brothers about this. Good things coming!
