(4/7) "What, so we're just gonna pretend I'm not the person who hunts most here?" Eujanie interjected with a catty grin, boldly strutting along the path to the village's edge. "Unless you both got bows to shoot, I think a scrofa's our best shot. And grandpa'll have a heart attack if we kill an aldabuck." Y'know, seeing as he had a pet one.

Ika 5
"Oh yeah..." She looked over her shoulder toward her grandfather as they walked then awkwardly turned her attention to the front. It would have been a little rough if they killed and ate his pet.
"Alright, all mighty huntress, where do we go first? How do we track Scrofa?" Teasing or not Ika's younger cousin did have a point. No one here was actively hunting their meals like she was so maybe it was best to listen to Eujanie? So long as it wasn't about something that would get her killed.

Ujana 5
"We should have brought Maritza," Ujana leaned in close to her dad and once she'd said her peace a big grin split her cheeks. "She's never been on a hunt, has she? I feel like she's really missing out on the full Tale experience." Spirits how she would pay to watch her father's bride get chased by a Scrofa. She was a beast in her own right, but not out here. In these wilds that sharp mouth would only get her so far.
"Hmm hmm...maybe I don't have to go back tomorrow after all..."

(5/7)
These disrespectful little-- Uquin pinched the bridge of his nose and took a long breath, only to cut a look at his daughter, lips pursed to fight the impulse to laugh or smile. Because yes, while Uquin wasn't unaccustomed to the wilderness of Tale when it came to gathering plants and the like, he was no hunter. But at least he had THAT over his darling wife.
It... would. Be humorous. But he felt as if Maritza would be able to sense he was thinking that, the next time he saw her, and somehow scold him for it.
"Be my guest and suggest it, but don't expect me to be around to hear how it goes down." He said, lightly, instead.

(5/7) "Weeell." By now, the four had properly left the settlement. The sand was soft under her sandals, practically soundless, and around them the sun shimmered over the crystalline grasses and other plants. She lowered her voice when she spoke next, "They'll be diggin' for roots and stuff, and we gotta be real quiet and sneak up once we find one. If we had more time to play, we'd put out some bait and--"
She paused, bouncing a bit in place when she realized there was something shuffling around against the grasses ahead. She put a finger to her lips and shot a look at her cousin, eyebrows raised.

[Ika 6]
Carefully Ika reached for one of her blades and pulled it from the sheath. If she needed both then so be it, but for one would should do the job. Honestly the Aishan hybrid wasn't sure how much of a fight it would put up, only that this was likely to get fairly chaotic pretty quickly.
When Eujanie stalled so did she. Her eyes turned to her cousin, patiently waiting for the go ahead and when it seemed like this was it Ika turned back to look at her mother.
Go time.

Ujana 6As soon as she got that look Ujana's face split into a devilish grin. She knew that look all too well and as much as she wanted Uquin to give in it was also fun to see him struggle with it. "I think it's good to bond. We're family and we haven't spent much time together. She'll understand." She may hate the idea of getting that far into the wild, but if she worded it the right way Maritza would buy into it. She had to; Ujana was Uquin's precious baby girl after all. The more they walked the quieter Ujana became. While the others were seemingly on the trail her mind was still scheming against Maritza when the hand gave her pause. One look at Ika had Ujana reaching back for her massive axe. In an instant the two were charging toward the bush, weapons raised before bringing them down with hardened swings.

It wasn't as if Uquin could hide his expression from his daughter; at times, he felt she and her sister could read him better than he could himself. If he had any doubt, that bright, impish grin convinced him otherwise, and he could only lift his eyes skyward and give a defeated shake of his head in answer to it.
Oh, yes - it was good to bond, but he very much doubted his dear wife would understand.
Thankfully, Ujana let the topic drop, and it was a short time later that the girls caught wind of something. He stayed back, hands slipping to grasp his beads just in case they were needed. While a scrofa's tusks were not typically used defensively, he'd seen plenty of hunters unlucky enough to get stabbed in the arms or legs with them, while the scrofa flailed during a hunt.

(6/7) Eujanie could barely believe their luck! Scrofas weren't necessarily rare, but many had learned better than to come so close to a settlement. She couldn't imagine the noise she heard as anything else though. It was too small to be a witu (and, honestly, they wouldn't have heard it if that was the case), and it being only one discounted the idea of it being scorra. Still, when the others withdrew their blades, Eujanie stepped back, eyebrows raised, but unwilling to voice any complaint. Although - she feared if her aunt used that big ol' weapon, she was more than likely to obliterate the thing, and there wouldn't be much usable meat left!! No helping it now, because both women shot forward and -- sure enough, the resulting short-lived squeals proved it to be a scrofa indeed. Eujanie whooped, excitedly - then tiptoed closer, peeking to try and see how much of it had survived!

[Ika 7]
In hindsight it probably would have been better if they hadn't tag teamed the beast. One of Ika's blades made contact with it's back side while Ujana's axe cut through it's front leg. The Scrofa in pain and lashed out, tossing it's head from side to side before finally biting Ujana's leg. It wasn't much of an attack, but once it was made Ika brought her sword around and ran it through the Scrofa's chest.
Maybe...they were better fighters than hunters, but at least it was meat? "Is this thing still usable?"

Ujana 7She cursed something fierce when the Scrofa sank it's teeth into her leg. The bite itself wouldn't have been terrible - it's tusks were sharper than it's bite - but the pressure. Even after Ika ran it through Ujana felt the need to kick it's head away, lip curled in irritation more than pain. "Maybe not as a hide, but the meat is still good." The beast looked to be on the smaller side - maybe not even a season old - which made her think. "There may have been more around; not after all that squealing though."

(7/7)
Uquin didn't panic, but it was a close thing. As ... harmless as the attack was, he still would never, ever enjoy the sight of one of his children being injured, even if that child was full grown, massive, and looked more annoyed by the attack than actually injured. Nonetheless, he bustled forward and, with a gesticulation of his beads, funneled healing magic into her bruising leg.
Perhaps he should have bandaged it or simply given her pain relief, and a stern 'I told you so', but he couldn't make himself do so, not surrounded by his daughter and grand daughters.
"Luckily it's just the meat we're after." He answered with a sigh. More meat would have been a great gift for the rest of the family, but if they'd wanted something more efficient perhaps Uzumati should have been called instead. "Very well done, I'd say."

(7/7) "Nuh-uh! There's still loads of stuff we can get out of this big guy." Eujanie corrected brightly. Boars hair was great for brushes - the sinews could be dried to make thread, the bones made into all sorts of tools. But yeah - it wasn't the prettiest kill, but probably better than she could do. She wasn't any sorta archer, and she definitely wasn't that good with weapons just yet.
"Uhhh I'm already thinking of all the things we can make with this thing! I'm so excited!"
