She mulled it over for a second. “Do you need me to stand here and pose for that?” She wondered. If it took too much time then she didn’t want to do it. She had better things to do after all. Akel could easily find a venom or something she would work into a salve or antivenom to replenish her stocks. Or maybe even go watch her wife train the next generation. That would be more entertaining that sitting still for hours.

“Hmn? No. Not really. Just long enough for me to get the angle right. I can remember the details on my own.” She offered. While it would be nice to have the model willing to sit for a while she understood not many wanted to. So she’d gotten used to drawing from memory. She wasn’t half bad about it either. “I can draw you first so you don’t have to wait.” Calixa had all day to draw the Mother Tree, so long as she wasn’t chased off. But if this woman was going to escape soon then she wanted to capture her likeness first.

“Very well. Just be quick about it.” She agreed only because she wanted to be nice. Not to mention the girl honestly wasn’t hurting anyone by drawing. Even if she drew the entire layout of their village it wouldn’t matter. The Elaria were well defended and well equipped to deal with any threat. Plus, she had enough poison to take out a small city if someone really came to invade them.

She nodded and quickly opened up her sketchbook and set to work. She eyed the woman for a few seconds then looked down to draw a bit then went right back to looking at her. She repeated that process a few times over the next couple of minutes and when she had a good base down she stopped momentarily to turn her book around for the woman to see. “What name would you like me to put down for it?” While she could leave the drawing unnamed she felt it was disrespectful.

She waited, slowly growing impatient, until the girl turned the book around. The finer details were missing but it was clear from looking that she’d gotten the general shape of Akel’s face down as well as her hairstyle. She was well on her way to making a portrait of the woman. So Akel nodded her head in approval. “Looks nice.” At the question of what name to list for it she thought about it. A nickname would have been funny but she settled on her given one. “Akeldama.”
