Both Asher and Oliver had–of course–been interested in visiting Sessrumnir. They’d talked about it before but never pushed for it, not when there was already so much else going on. When Oliver began to nod, Asher turned to Michael and said, “We’d appreciate that.”
“It’s really cool there,” Elliot said, carefully leaning forward so he could hug his parents, too. He and Atticus fit easily into both of their arms, and they rubbed the boys’ backs.
“Are you okay?” Oliver asked. He freed one hand so he could gently rest it against Atticus’ cheek, and then placed his other on Elliot’s as he looked between the two. “You’re both so brave, I’m so proud of you. I’ll always be proud of you.”
If there were any questions about the manageability of how they could all get there, they were lost on the group. Devyn knew he could make his way to Sessrumnir one way or the other, he just didn’t want Michael to spend more energy than he had.
At the very least, they'd be at Sessrumnir so he knew he’d heal quickly.
…And if Devyn were to pack a very large lunch for everyone, he knew he wouldn’t get any complaints.

Atticus nodded when Oliver placed a hand on his cheek. He was doing his best not to get emotional. He didn’t want to scare either of them. He didn’t want to burden them with knowing what happened if they were better off just leaving it to their imaginations. Although maybe that was worse.
No, at least they weren’t injured. Not as badly as they could have been. Elliot was hurt, and that was the most important thing. He wanted to make sure Elliot got better. He had his starseed back, so it’s not like he was even still hurt.
He just had to ignore the sensation of someone pulling his life out of his body.
His lip trembled first, and he squeezed Elliot’s hand tighter. Maybe as a warning. He was quickly reaching his limit for being able to keep himself from getting upset again.
So when he felt the tears start to fill his eyes, he quickly lifted his hand to hide his face as best as he could, doing his best to muffle a quiet sob that escaped. And then another. Michael knew it was only a matter of time before Atticus couldn’t hold himself back, although he was surprised he’d lasted this long. He didn’t blame him. He’d been through a traumatizing ordeal.
“I’m going to finish the tea,” Michael said quietly to Devyn as he gave his hand a squeeze and then pulled it away. He placed his hand on his shoulder, and then took a step away from the others so he could return to the kitchen. He’d make a couple more cups, of course.

“It’s okay,” Oliver reassured quickly, and as soon as Atticus’ eyes started leaking, his followed. Only, he was significantly less ashamed of them–or, just so used to them that he didn’t even bother trying to hide them. Maybe they were newer to Devyn and Atticus, but they certainly weren’t new to anyone else in the room.
Devyn glanced over his shoulder, like he wanted to go with Michael, but he didn’t want to leave Atticus alone.
Well–not alone. He was here with the Reids. But, Devyn was feeling a little extra protective right now. He knew Michael could take care of himself, and he wouldn’t have been surprised if he was a little overwhelmed by everything. Devyn was only worried about leaving Michael to his thoughts, but he still felt very protective over the boys.
It wasn’t like a youma was going to come charging in–probably–but, just in case, he lingered.
“I’m just glad you two are okay. I don’t know what I’d do if either of you got seriously hurt. Wrap you in bubble wrap and glue you to my side, probably,” Oliver added, and even as he sniffled, he gathered them a little closer.
Asher stood off to the side just a bit, so he could rub Oliver’s back with one hand and Atticus’ with the other.
