“Alright.” Revna took one last glance over the raptrix, offering a quiet prayer for a quick recovery before leaving the stall and allowing Katori to latch the door once more. “Giving her a pen would be good. I’m sure fresh air will help her to relax more.” She could only imagine what it must be like to be in a strange environment, tied up and surrounded by walls. Revna shook her head at the thought. She would be so upset!

“Agreed.” Katori nodded. “I hate to leave her inside like this but she needs a comfortable place to recover without risking herself more. She’s stubborn and has been trying to flee ever since they brought her in this morning. I don’t know what she got into a fight with but the local villager found her dragging her wing down a mountain path, trying to attack a flock of roati despite her own injuries.” Her silver gaze swept back towards the locked stall before Katori placed the medical supplies back on the shelf and grabbed a rake instead. “Grab a broom and we’ll sweep out all the dirt that we can and place some hay down or something if she would rather sleep outside later.” It wasn’t as if the raptrix would be flying away anytime soon and some fresh air would be good for tomorrow. Tonight she would stay here in the stables, but tomorrow they would see about letting her out during daylight.

A chuckle left Revna’s lips despite her worries. “A strong raptrix.” She offered as she took a broom from the wall. “If she’s going to stay here all night…is someone going to stay with her?” The youngling glanced about the large stable, empty save for the locked stall where the raptrix was staying. It seemed so lonely. Being outside would be nice since she could at least see the sky and get fresh air whereas inside it was warm and safe, but definitely more of a prison for a creature so used to having no restraints.

“Someone could stay here.” Katori glanced towards Revna. “Would you want to stay here tonight instead of in the guest room? I can camp out here as well.” She smiled towards her younger cousin. “We can grab some blankets and just camp out like when we’re on the road.” She was accustomed to such things since traveling all across Tendaji, but would Revna be alright with that? Judging by the girl’s expression the idea was definitely acceptable and Katori was already thinking about opening up the stall next to the raptrix so that they could set up camp for the night. Thankfully it was already spring so the nights weren’t as bitter and the stables had insulation and heated stones that ran throughout the whole sanctuary to help fight against the natural cold of Zena. “But first we have to clean up this pen. If you stay longer than a couple of days this time maybe we can even work together on helping her to fly once more.”

Revna pursed her lips thoughtfully before nodding at the idea. “I can do that.” She wouldn’t mind staying in the stables, even if she had to endure Katori’s presence then so be it. Maybe this was a good chance to figure out more about her older cousin while also helping out the injured raptrix. Revna truly didn’t like the idea of leaving the injured raptrix alone after all. “I’ll talk to my father, maybe if he doesn’t want to stay then I can at least stay a couple of months…just to keep an eye on things.” She agreed, a slight flush decorating her cheeks as she started forward without waiting for Katori to say anything else. I’ll linger just long enough to make sure she can fly again. She promised before going to attack the pen, cleaning with a vigor rarely seen from the youngling.
