The question made him stop and think, hands loosening their death grip on the seat belt. He took a few deep breaths as he considered it.
"Hmm..." His head tilted to the side. "Feel like... Pack already do so much for Todd. Pack support Todd, but Todd not support pack. Not well. Todd take generosity but give nothing back. No hunting, no... job, for money. Maybe walk dog? But Todd... never do enough. Sleep, eat. Fight, sometimes. Try to learn, but Todd... no good with computers. Read child books. Todd feels like he'll never fit in, never do enough to help where pack has already given so much to help lost Todd. There is so much about Earth, it... scary. And Todd wants to help more than he can. But it take... much effort. More than Todd can give."
There it was. The root of everything he felt. He was so small in a world so big and he felt like he'd never be able to measure up to the humans, to be able to blend in well, would always cause problems instead of helping fix them.
Like today. With getting arrested.
He sniffled, rubbing at his eyes. "Sorry. For being trouble."
