"She really has though he's definitely rubbed off on her." Zyphire chuckled as he watched the petite woman fiercely barter with another iceling over a bracelet, the words surprisingly sharp for someone so dainty and from the capitol. There was also a slight curve to her dress which had Zyphire raising an eyebrow before he focused back on Sylvirah. "Well if you would like it we could go say hello and pay for the bracelet. I do have one other place in mind before we go dancing, there's a little pavilion that they've set up along the edge of the festival which supposedly have a lovely overview of all the lights."
"I can't blame Ivar for being too shocked, you have cut a rather elegant figure tonight." Zyphire mused, his gaze trailing over Sylvirah again in appreciation. Even though he found her just as lovely whenever she was in her normal leathers it definitely was different seeing her in a dress like this. "The man is more accustomed to seeing us all in furs, not silks like this."

When she’d first met Evalie she couldn’t keep her comments about the wisp of a woman off her tongue. What was someone like Ivar, who was just as much from the mountain as Sylvirah, doing with a little thing like that? Over the years those thoughts about Evalie had slipped away and now Sylvirah found herself grinning at her ‘business strategy’.
“If it’s still here tomorrow we can talk to them about it then.” On a woman as thin as Evalie it was hard not to see the little bump in her midsection and Sylvirah found her eyes lingering there before turning to Zyphire. “I’m surprised we haven’t been mugged,” Sylvirah groused. “We look like we have twice as much gold as we do.” While there were certainly wealthier pairs mingling around the festival that night they could have easily been one of them. Pity on the fool who tried anything, though.
“If you’re ready I’d like to see the pavilion.” The shopping area was starting to get a little crowded for Sylvirah’s tastes.

"Fair enough." Zyphire nodded with a small smile as he turned away from the shop keepers, his arm lacing through Sylvirah's as he started walking them back towards the street. They would come back tomorrow and pick up the bracelet and maybe a few things for the children as well. "There's thieves and then there's fools. Thankfully there's no fools out tonight." Joked Zyphire with a small smirk. Even though they both were dressed in finery there was something about their movements, even when they were supposedly relaxing, that made others feel that they were watching predators not prey. If anyone dared to pickpocket either of the two then they would find themselves in quite a situation indeed.
"The pavilion is right there." Zyphire gestured towards the smaller structure made out of white marble with golden and silver designs swirling about the pillars. The square was below them, the dancers an ocean of shifting colors with the lights gleaming around the area, and the music could clearly be heard as it floated up the street. Thankfully it was more of a waltz at the moment instead of the rowdier folk songs which made Zyphire even more set on this moment. "Come here." Zyphire grinned towards Sylvirah before positioning them right at the edge of the pavilion, the area thankfully empty since most had gone home or were down below dancing by now. The crescent moon was rising with no sun left to light the path, leaving the shifter fully in his nighttime appearance with only the glowing torches and starry sky above to brighten the area. "Pretty nice, right?" He asked with a small smile as he let go of Sylvirah so that she could look around the area. "Maybe a little bit too much?" He continued with a slight frown even though he appreciated the rows of flowers planted around the edges of the pavilion, the snow blossoms fully blooming under the moonlight.
Still, this was what he came here for, the very thing he had thought about doing when Sylvirah had mentioned going to this particular festival. Recent events had made Zyphire think about things and he was fairly certain his intention was obvious as he took out the wooden box and held it towards Sylvirah. "I know we have a family together, but there was something I wanted to confirm with you." He offered with a small smile, almost looking sheepish as rare as that expression was for the Shifter. "We've always had an open mindset about things, but honestly you're the only one to truly hold my interest...and heart." Who else could keep him on his toes like this? Who else was such a strong mother? Zyphire tilted his head thoughtfully as he looked towards Sylvirah and watched for her reaction. "I know there's some customs in your village, but I also wanted to give you this in case you were interested in maybe sealing the deal."
"I know I can't always stay around all year, but I want you to know that you're the only one in my soul. So keep giving me a home to return to every time the seasons allow?" Zyphire asked quietly, the box opening to reveal the twisted arrow of a ring made of precious star metal with a golden sapphire that reminded him of her eyes holding the arrowhead and feather together. "I know things may have not been the brightest lately, but I would love to work on growing an even larger family with my wife." Zyphire bit his bottom lip thoughtfully as he held up the ring towards Sylvirah. "Also, just in case you do say yes....Ivar customized this ring out of precious metal that won't freeze and the gemstone emits a subtle heat. That way you can feel like I'm there holding your hand even if I'm away." Zyphire thought it was thoughtful, but he wasn't certain how Sylvirah would feel so all the Shifter could do now was wait with baited breath as he watched for her reply especially if she did take the ring and saw the engraving on the inside.

The scene laid out before her reminded Sylvirah of watching the village after a hunt from the skies. While the energy was just as vibrant and excitable, the mood was more muted and intimate. Even from here she could see the way the couples pulled into one another, seemingly creating personal bubbles among a sea of ever moving bodies. They moved with all the fluidity of a pack on the hunt and while Sylvirah had never been one for dancing she could respect the beauty of it. “No, I think it’s nice. We don’t have many moments like this so it’s special.” Even the moments where all the sights and sounds were overwhelming there was an excitement to it that brightened her eyes. “I see so many new things when I’m with you.”
Without him she wouldn’t have gone to Matori, let alone have four children and a thriving village. Zyphire was the one who always came home with the strangest of recipes and ingredients that set her tongue on fire. Sometimes she questioned the things he taught their children, like piercings in frigid weather, but no one else looked at her like he did. Even tonight, when the world around him was swathed in beauty, he’d only had eyes for her and the man made sure she knew it.
What was with his face? She furrowed her brow, then looked curiously down at the box. The longer he spoke the more it all made sense and Sylvirah felt the air catch in her lungs. Was this really happening? Proposals like this just didn’t happen in the Ild’vann and while there were ceremonies dedicated to couples there were never as binding as this. When she saw the ring Sylvirah’s heart stopped inside of her chest. “Det er herlig…” When she lifted the ring Sylvirah could already feel the warmth coming from it, and, almost as if he knew her better than she knew herself, Zyphire gave the explanation why. A metal that wouldn’t freeze and a stone that would keep him with her when he couldn’t be…If her heart wasn’t about to burst it most definitely did when she saw the engraving.
The rune for eternal love. Her tribe might not have had much in the way of a written language, but they had this and now she was crying. “In case I say yes…? You fool of a man, how could I not?” Sylvirah slipped the ring onto her finger and admired the way the arrow settled comfortably against her skin. She stayed like that for all of a second before throwing her arms around him. “Jeg er din for alltid. I dette livet og det neste.” There would never be another like Zyphire, no matter how many lifetimes they lived. She couldn’t imagine anyone who brought as much joy and aggravation as he did. “I want our family to grow and I want to keep seeing the world as you do. I can’t think of anything better than being your wife.”

“I never denied being a fool, especially around you.” Teased Zyphire even as his heart leapt in his chest and he tightened his arms around Sylvirah, twirling her playfully before squeezing her into a close embrace. Never before had he imagined someone completely consuming his thoughts that always amazed him in various ways, but the beautiful iceling in front of him had managed just that. At first they had simply kept running into each other, the encounters both frustrating and amusing, but then he found himself worrying over her and seeking her out. Those feelings simply grew with everything that they endured together until he realized that it was love he was feeling, honest and pure. The very thought made it hard not to continue placing kisses on her skin, especially as she shared the same sentiments. Zyphire swore he would do his best to continue supporting Sylvirah and that they would get through these dark times together, emerging even stronger as partners and as a family who would surely grow with time.
“Og jeg vil alltid følge deg.” Zyphire promised as he continued holding onto Sylvirah, showering her with light kisses that would surely turn to passionate ones as the festival faded into the background and the pair enjoyed an intimate moment alone.
