As they headed deeper into the village, the pair of them were getting more looks. Some were indifferent, some were curious, and some were hostile. Pruu ignored most of them, though found herself shooting back hard looks of her own if anyone seemed about to cause a problem. For the most part, like with the girls from earlier, she carried enough clout in the village that trouble avoided them.

As Ilsa spoke, Pruu felt herself slow down slightly as her mind shifted into a more serious and contemplative train of thought. The girl's situation was strange, but even Pruu was able to accept it. "It is as you say; you are Aishan. Whatever biases they have, your situation should not be receiving the hostility that it seems to." She pressed her lips to stop herself from talking further. They had only just met. This was not the time to have a heart to heart. Ilsa still had to prove herself anyway.

Her weapons were a much easier topic. With a gentle shake to clear her head, she dropped one hand to pat the blades secured at her hip. "And you?"

Ilsa did her best not to look at anyone as she passed. She'd been told in the past that her 'indifferent eyes' could be seen as a challenge to others when she was actually looking for the opposite. "My mother told me when I was growing up that if Aisha hadn't wanted me as I am then she would have made me a pure Alkidike. If they wish to question goddesses then they can, but I won't." She wasn't about to say that there were others like her. If and when they came to Zinris that was up to them, but Ilsa didn't want to draw attention to them when she didn't have to.

Ilsa raised her hand. "I prefer hand to hand, but I've also been training with a spear. I want to make sure I'm just as effective at a distance as I am close up."

A sharpness went through Pruu's chest. Though time and effort had mended the past, she couldn't help the scar that her youth had left on her heart. "If only more mothers were like yours," she murmured, though whether or not Ilsa could hear her was debatable.

"A fine plan. It is best to be as ready for any situation as you can be." In front of a narrow but deep hut, she stopped and turned back to Ilsa. "Here you are. I will be here at sunrise tomorrow. I hope you will be ready." She raised her hand and put it to her chest. "My name is Pruu. If you decide to avoid me tomorrow, please have the decency to send a message."

"I-" Ilsa's cheeks warmed. "I'm not going to avoid you, Pruu. You're the first kind face that I've met here and if all you ask in return is to monitor my training then who am I to refuse? I'm not going to hide just because of this. I have nothing to hide from." She was proud of who she was because of what her mothers had instilled in her, not just because of a blind pride in her blood. Even if she'd been an earthling she would stand tall against them and training with an Elarian warrior that they deferred to would only clench that. If anything she would have tracked Pruu down if she hadn't volunteered her time.

"My name is Ilsa. I'll be waiting for you here early tomorrow so please don't forget me." Maybe the promise of a mentor, however temporary, would ease her mothers' worry? She could take a little good with the bad.

After a moment of observation, Pruu smiled and nodded. "I will see you tomorrow, Ilsa." Working with Ilsa was bound to be interesting, and now she had things to plan. With that, she turned and resumed her walk back to the training grounds. Her mood had improved, but her muscles still twitched to release that nervous mom energy. Her daughters were capable women. If this hybrid was half the woman they were, they would be fine no matter what obstacles they faced in their journey.
