Nearly fifteen? Even at fourteen he was nearly a man grown for his kind and yet she would have thought him a child. That was something Enya was never going to get used to, no matter how much time she spent around Kahikians, or earthlings, for that matter. “Depends. If it was captured then it might not know how to hunt for itself or if it’s injured then this might be the better option.” She couldn’t say without looking at the creature, though.
“Oh! It’s a Rapaki.” While she didn’t let her guard down, the Elidae was relieved to at least find it wasn’t something more dangerous. Those claws could be nasty when they wanted to be, but she wasn’t as scared of it as it probably wanted her to be. She very nearly said they made the best stews, but after his reaction to he beast Enya thought it best to keep her mouth shut.
“I think if we just keep walking and don’t engage we should be fine. I’m not turning my back to it, so maybe it’ll think fighting isn’t worth it.”

Ronan's frown only deepened at Enya's reasoning. "If that's the case...maybe I should keep looking for it. Not that I would exactly care, but you know." He hastily added before the rapaki took his attention. Just how strange did all of the creatures look around this place? These islands truly were something else...Ronan pursed his lips glancing between the Elidae and the creature before taking one step forward as if to test that theory.
What if? Nope. The creature just let out a strange low noise before the glint of its claws caught his attention. Thankfully though it didn't come charging at Ronan like the teen thought. While he braced himself for an attack, the creature instead simply disappeared into the ground! "W....what?" Ronan blinked and then glanced towards Enya with confusion. "It burrows?! These islands have some weird things." His cheeks flushed as he realized his words, his gaze obviously focused on the foreigner before going back towards the path. "So this way to town, right?"

While she wasn't surprised to see the Rapaki disappear into the Earth, she was hesitant to drop her guard. If it wanted to attack then it could spring up under their feet, but thankfully the creature was keen on leaving them be. When she was sure they were safe she stood back up to her full height and relaxed her trident.
"Well, yeah, that's what the claws are for." To illustrate her point, Enya held up her hand like claws and made little digging motions. She was a little slow to realize the full breadth of what he'd said, but was much faster to see the flush. And his eyes were staring right at her which was something she couldn't help noticing because of his different eye shape.
"Yeah, it's just straight ahead. We're actually pretty close so if you keep going you'll get there no problem."

Ronan nodded. "Makes sense." It was like some of those field mice that he saw whenever helping relatives in Belrea. So much farming...so much dirt...Ronan shook his head. He definitely preferred the open ocean to all of that. His flush only deepened as Enya caught his gaze. "Got it. I think I can handle it if you need to go." He managed with a sheepish smile. "I do feel bad for takin' so much of yer time but I 'preciate it." The more flustered he was the more the slight accent he had picked up from the sailors came out. Still, Ronan was thankful and it wasn't as if he meant anything bad by his words! Enya was cute...just different, that was all. Even that realization though was enough to make his flush darken more as he quickly waved and started darting forward down the path.

"If you've got it then I'll start heading back."
She'd already taken the better part of her day helping him out, but Enya wouldn't call it a waste. While there were more and more Earthlings coming to visit the islands it wasn't as if they were allowed to visit her home. It was a learning experience she wasn't likely to forget, and every time she saw his cheeks darken she couldn't help grinning a little brighter.
Especially when he darted down the path. Hopefully he wouldn't trip and fall on his face. Shaking her head, Enya lifted her trident and turned to start the trip home once again.
