“Yes.” Verosh simply kept his answer simple, there wasn’t much need to say anything more. It was to be expected that Eudom would be confident in knowing the route towards Zinris, but it was still good to hear even if Verosh doubted the ‘spirit’ aspect of things. The Yaeli truly had some interesting superstitions. Verosh nearly grimaced as he remembered some of the potions he had seen at that store in the back alley earlier today. Strange indeed. The appearance of the server caught his attention and the man found himself handing over coins for a key, the brass metal cold against his flushed skin. “Is there a bathhouse nearby or can water be brought up to the room?” He asked quietly as he tucked the key into a safe place within his belongings. Even though Verosh had traveled as lightly as possible he was eager to drop the bags off so that he could stop carrying so much around. Perhaps they could get a mount to help carry things? The thought made him glance towards Eudom. “You have a cart or something?”

“We can have water brought up, but umm…” The girl shifted awkwardly. “I don’t think we have any tubs for your particular height, sir. There’s a basin though and I can bring warm water so that you can freshen up more tonight or in the morning.” Eudom chuckled at the realization that Verosh was far taller than anything expected and he could only hope that the beds could fit the foreigner. Maybe if he curled up on his side? Either way Eudom could only smile as Verosh simply nodded. “I’ll take some warm water this evening as well. We’ll be heading out early in the morning so it’s best to freshen up now while we can.” He watched her walk away before finishing his drink again and setting it to the side. “I do have a cart. They have a small stable outback and I have my animal there resting for the night. We can pack any of your belongings onto the cart. I prefer to walk so I didn’t bring anything big so we’ll walk alongside it.” If he had been expecting to bring someone back then perhaps he would have brought a second mount and the actual wagon that he had repaired since having his own visitor living at the farm with him.
“As for everything else unless you have questions I’d think this is a fair enough time to pack up for the night, no? We both will need rest as I plan to leave at dawn.” He hated to fight through the crowd and it was far easier to leave while the rest of the city was only beginning to stir with the morning light.

“That’s fine.” Verosh watched as the girl walked away before finishing his own drink, the ale burning in his throat before settling in his stomach and warming his whole body. “I can walk, I prefer to learn the landscape while I can.” Not that he planned on visiting often but if his cousins had their way then he would be expected to visit again at some point with Zira and Noll whenever they opted to begin training in the future. It was also awkward to bring a mount overseas since the ships were already so packed with cargo and so Verosh had accepted that he would walk rather than borrow a creature here. “I also prefer to travel at dawn so I will see you then.” Verosh stood, his movements a bit awkward as the alcohol settled in more now that he had finished drinking his whole tankard.
“Ah, I can’t read the strange numbers as well. Do you mind showing me the way?”

“Perfect.” Eudom dusted the crumbs from his hands before standing as well, the Yaeli raising a brow at the staggered movements of the hybrid. Surely someone so tall couldn’t be so easily affected by one drink, right? He shook his head before holding out a hand for the key. “Sure. We should be across from one another but I’ll help you to the room.” They could both check in for the night and then travel tomorrow as soon as the sun rose. Then whenever Verosh was caught up with his relatives in the nearby village, Eudom would take his pay and head back home to the farm to prepare for the upcoming harvest.

Verosh frowned before fumbling for the key and slowly handing it over. He would make certain to freshen up tonight, hopefully the water would help clear his vision that seemingly danced about the place and then he could just sleep and wake up with the sun as usual. The guide seemed reliable enough and so Verosh allowed him to lead the way upstairs so that they could settle in for the night. Just a few more days and then I’ll be home soon enough. And by Aisha he was fully ready to come home after spending a couple of weeks in this strange country that he didn’t believe he would ever truly understand.
