Wren’s mouth formed a toothy ‘o’ before the teen reached up and undid his bun. It didn’t take much; most of his hair had already fallen out of the sloppy style and he tossed the stick somewhere behind him. Presumably away from the water, but Wren wasn’t going to go check on it. Cautiously he ran the comb through his hair, getting it snagged on a knot early on and giving it a good tug.
“I'm no' sure. I think one day I'll knah because if I don' then I'll be 'ere like 'his fawever. I don' mind travelin when I wan' to bu' no' because I'm stuck.” And that was a very real fear of is. It was enough of a concern that his voice dropped a bit, his hands tangled up in his hair. What if he never found his way out? What if he wandered the land for an eternity, at the whim to bigger and scarier spirits? “Uhm, is this i'? Am I doin i'?”

Verosh's expression softened as he noticed the concern in Wren's voice. "What if you found out that you weren't cursed and could be alive?" He questioned quietly as he watched the teen figuring out how to comb through his tangled hair. Verosh nodded at the question before actually chuckling at the sight of the messy hair. "You're getting it. Just keep going through with the comb and then when the soap gets all sudsy just rinse your hair with water." Out of all the things he had ever imagined doing today teaching a teen who was basically a child how to comb out tangles and wash his hair was definitely not it.
"After you rinse it then there's this stick here that you can use to scrub at your skin. Lightly though because you don't want to hurt yourself. Spirit or not you can bleed and it's far better to use a smooth stick like this against your skin with some soap than your....claws."

Wren gave a little wry laugh and turned a genuinely pleasant, if not macabre, smile Verosh’s way. “Doesn' sound righ' to me, bu' tha'd be alrigh' I guess. Can’t go around raisin' the dead, though.” It was a one way passage and while he’d been allowed to haunt the living world Wren knew there was a line. He was smart enough to figure that one out if things like this damnable comb escaped him.
It had been so long since Wren had a formal bath that things he might have been taught in his youth escaped him. Bit by bit the teenager followed the older man’s advise until his hair was too sudsy to work with and he dunked his head in the water. When he surfaced, he picked it up again, intermittently rinsing it, until the comb passed through without fuss. “Lightly,” He murmured under his voice. Wren moved to the edge of the spring to set the comb aside and pick up the stick. “Hey...are you goin 'o 'ell on me? Cuz i'm 'ere when i''s suppose 'o be priva'e?”

"Hmm." Verosh simply nodded, his gaze narrowing as he tried to figure out how to get the teen to realize the truth of the matter. No matter how strange Wren's appearance could be, those teeth especially worried Verosh, there was no way that the kid was actually a spirit roaming the earth. He could bring him to a healer or someone nearby, but would they even want to put up with someone who seemed so neglected already? That meant that any earthling who had seen this kid before had either mistreated him or simply passed without a second glance his way. The very thought made Verosh actually angry, his own childhood of being shunned as a hybrid making him very bitter towards outsiders. He would rather maim someone than allow them to treat his own children in such a manner...so how could he turn a blind eye to this?
"I could very well do that." Mused Verosh at the question before shaking his head. "Or maybe I won't. Though that means I would have to take responsibility for you since you technically invaded the bath meant for me." He frowned and studied the teen some more. "If you clean up well then we'll see about finding food. Spirit or not you look like you could use it and then if you'd like we can go from there? I'm not afraid of spirits so you lucked out today." No point it continuing an argument, not when he should focus on making certain the teen was cleaned up and fed before anything else.

That was true. The stranger had said as much when he first entered the bath so Wren could only guess what would come onto his shoulders if the truth were found out. A spiritual cleansing for one, and those were not a pleasant affair. He could – Oh! Look! There really was a scratch. As it turned out under a thick layer of dirt, sweat and dead skin little bits of himself were started to be unearthed. Oh! And the dirt from under his claws was finally started to wash away. Maybe there was something to the soap.
“Don'' really need much nosh, bu' if 'ha' means you're up to cha' some mawe then I'll go. No' ov'en i ge' to talk wiv folks who don' run or throw things a' me.” He really had lucked out today! Maybe he should have stuck it out with Aishans a long time ago; their lot didn’t seem as superstitious as everyone else. Full on smiling now, his sharpened teeth on full display, Wren set about finishing cleaning up.
