"So he's being an a**, got it." Quipped Verosh casually as he grabbed his own mug, swishing the amber liquid around before taking a drink. He didn't take as hearty a drink as Ika, but he did do his best to take what looked like a good swallow of the strange brew. It warmed the pit of his stomach as he settled back into his chair and grabbed a few slices of cheese to chew on while listening to Ika talk.
"Fair enough." Verosh nodded, "I'm guessing the rest of your family didn't rely on Aisha's blessings to have children early then." That or something else? But then again how would others in her family have been born without Aisha's blessing? Was it solely the earthling part or was there something about her own heritage that he was missing? Verosh truly didn't know enough about Ika nor did he find it his place to pry into her personal history, not when it didn't affect him or his own family. "Enjoy it though, especially since you're going far away to see the open sky and ocean." He advised with a small smile. "I traveled as much as I could before finding peace with Jhana though even now I leave often enough since she is stable here and we have plenty of family to help watch over the children." If they didn't then Verosh didn't even know if he would have the heart in him to leave his little family behind. It was hard enough to find alone time with Jhana because of their schedules, but every moment was cherished by the usually reserved hybrid.
"Who knows? If your adventure goes very well and you prove your skill then you could become a mentor as well. I never had the patience except maybe for my own family, but perhaps you can. My daughter is friendlier than me but apparently full of the same determination and strength for good potential as an apprentice."

Ika smirked over the rim of her glass and took a smaller sip off the top. “Yeah, well, they’re earthlings so they went about it the other way.” How much smaller would her family have been if any of her ancestors had to sit back and think about it? Would her mother even exist? Or her older brother, Eurig? Her youngest Aunt and Uncles wouldn’t for sure… It was a little perk she had to being around Aishans the majority of her day; she could carouse all she wanted without worrying about little surprises.
“I was worried about it at first, but I think I’m actually excited? Spending that much time with the Elaria is going to be an adjustment, but seeing the ocean for the first time sounds nice.” She’d heard more than enough about it to have a clear picture in her mind. Ika had more than a few ideas as to how she would spend her rest time there.
“Are you asking me to teach your daughter?” She’d never really thought about taking on a mentorship role, mostly because Ika at her core was a selfish individual. Growing up she was a brat who fought with her siblings and now she was looking out for herself among fellow Aishans. Still, if his daughter was young enough then it might be a few years before she trained her and by then… “You’re just talking smoke. I could suck in a fight and you wouldn’t know because you haven’t seen me fight. Ever actually.” Ika took a big drag off her glass.

Verosh's cheeks flushed, perhaps a bit from the drink or the statement both, but he simply nodded at the confirmation of earthling ways. Those were always unpredictable even though he didn't worry much about such things since their children came from blooms. Surely that was the only way that hybrids from Aisha could reproduce, right? Either way Verosh found himself taking another drink before venturing away from such thoughts and focusing back on Ika's other words.
"It's beautiful. I've only seen it a couple of times besides the sea by Chibale and while Matori's waters can be a bit darker they have a beautiful gleam about them." Verosh placed his mug down before settling back again to study Ika. "Maybe and maybe not. It would be nice for her to have someone other than family to help her grow in the future." He smirked towards Ika. "Of course I'm not blindly taking anyone in to train my daughter. You would have to survive a few adventures first over the years and then maybe we can spar so that I can judge how well you fight." A tease, mostly, but there was something about Ika's spirit that Verosh did enjoy. It wouldn't be such a bad thing if someone like that helped to train his daughter in the future. There was plenty of time to test and see how things could go in the future. "Also, I'm not one to lie. That much you should know about me." Even if it did get him into trouble with others sometimes and into a lot of fights growing up, Verosh refused to ever mislead others especially when it concerned him and his family.

“You should really talk to Sena.” Ika raised a hand to signal to their server. Her tankard was already empty and she was ready for another. It was going to take a lot more than this to start affecting her so she wasn’t worried about walking back to the forge sloshed. “She’s got a lot more patience than I’m ever going to have, but enough bite to keep you on your toes.”
When the server came around to exchange glasses, Ika leaned back in her seat and let the arms she still had draped over it’s back keep her balanced. “How about this; when I get back from Matori you and I are gonna fight. If I win you’ll know that Sena’s a good choice and if you win I’ll just stab you in the foot.”

"We'll see." Verosh glanced up at Ika with a faint smile. "I suppose if she managed to train you then she may have a chance with Zira." He mused before going for more food, the man only stopping to take a couple drinks of the ale. Thankfully it wasn't too bad and he actually enjoyed the taste with the food.
"We can do that, just minus stabbing my foot." Verosh agreed with a chuckle. "If I win I'll let you challenge me a few days later after another good round of drinks and food. I'll want to hear about your adventures so it should be worthwhile." He commented before settling in to finish the meal, the hybrid actually enjoying a rare moment of rest.
