(8/10) Right. It definitely felt better, especially since it was his first time traveling so far without his parents or brother by his side. Even if he knew the steps that needed to be taken, being on his own felt too... vulnerable. It really was a good idea, for both of them.
Thankfully, Kani agreed, and that was that, it seemed. "Good. First step is finding a good escort." He said, brightly, turning in a slow circle to check out their options. He hadn't got a great look at it the night before when he came into town, which meant now he needed to sniff around. His parents said inns were already good options, but there hadn't been any merchants or the like inside he could follow. So...
"Well, there have to be some options closer to the road. Did you have any other business in town before moving on?"

Kani nodded and sort of half turned with him, not exactly sure what he was doing but eager to assist so she wasn't a burden. At the mention of a good escort, Kani frowned. She hadn't spotted anyone particularly interested in traveling so far, other than Morain of course, and she had been in the shop before specifically looking for supplies. An escort what sort of a supply? "No, no business. I was just getting prepared myself. If you wish to continue on we may," she smiled, an excited energy bubbling up from her as she inched closer to Morain's side. "I am ready for travel! We can be off!"

(9/10) Er... well. He certainly hoped they could find escorts, because then he worried he would have invited a pretty lady along only to bumble his way through the desert. And that certainly wasn't a very gentlemanly thing to do, was it? Still, he didn't let his nerves show, and instead fixed her with a bright, confident smile, and snapped his fingers decisively, nodding with his chin down the dirt road back towards the entrance of the town - from the side that opposed the desert.
"Then we will be off! As soon as I find us a guide." ... Or a map, maybe.

Kani appreciated Morain's easy confidence, especially given her own lack of it. She was willing to follow his lead considering he had a lot more experience. She did hope his experience would be enough to carry the both of them until they could locate an escort of some sort. But what sort of cost would that be? Maybe caravans traveled the area and they could just sort of follow...? "Yes! I believe in you! You will surely find a guide for us and we will make our way in no time!" Kani felt full of energy with Morain around, which was a nice change from her dour mood she'd had these last few years. "I'm ready for great things!"

(10/10) Considering how fretful she had been when they started talking, Morain was pleased that she was feeling better. He wanted to ask her more - like, perhaps, why she was trying to get away. Was she running from someone, or something? But if they were to be companions now, he figured he had plenty of time to make friends properly, without putting his nose into her business out of simple curiosity.
He extended his arm for her to take, if she wanted, just out of politeness, and once she was ready he led her down the road. They had some tour guides to find.
