“Really?” Noelani blinked in surprise. “I suppose I could ask…though we really won’t be leaving for another few weeks or more based upon what we find.” They had only been in the area for about two weeks now? So she would probably imagine another month if not longer to give them plenty of time to explore these islands. Would traveling with an Elidae be okay? It wasn’t as if the stranger had given her any cause for concern…Noelani’s lips pursed thoughtfully, her conflicted emotions easily crossing her expression.

Noelani’s cheeks darkened with a violet flush. “Ah, I see.” She managed with a nod. “Our schedules don’t seem to be aligned as it is.” At the mention of not knowing each other’s names the girl nearly jumped. “Oh!” She flushed even more as she tucked a stray strand of hair back behind a pointed each. “My name is Noelani.” Something which ironically had been a name of one of the Kahi settlements as well, the irony not lost to the hybrid. Had her mother maybe been influenced by some memory of this place? Was it really possible that she had come from the Elidae settlement and not Yael? Noelani’s frown deepened at the thought.

“Nice to meet you.” Noelani quickly grasped the other woman’s hand, the strange warmth of their fingers nearly making her flinch. It was almost as if she had felt some sort of connection but surely she was just imagining things. The hybrid shook her head before offering a small smile at the question. “I probably shouldn’t. My friend is probably going to start looking for me soon.” She explained with a sheepish expression. She truly hadn’t meant to be gone this long! She would make certain to bring back some of the steamed buns as an apology just in case he did get worried about her disappearance. Noelani gave the vendor some more coins before gathering the steamed buns up into a satchel to carry back to the ship. “It was nice meeting you, Quiana.” She managed with a small smile, her hand reaching up in an awkward wave before the pair of them went their separate ways, the Elidae to enjoy the festivities and the hybrid back to her companion who was waiting on her. Though for some reason she had the strangest feeling that she would run into the Elidae again in the future.
