Ida's expression warmed as she bent down to scoop up the small cat, settling her loose and comfortable in her arms. She never wanted to restrict her in any way, but it just felt good to have that warmth and closeness.
"Anything you want to work on, you can. I'll bring you any time you'd like to come. I tend to make a trip every couple of days, so just let me know if you'd like to go to. I'd be really happy to share this place with someone else. I mean, a whole asteroid is way more space than I need for just myself." Tilting her head, Ida thought about the question and considered the places she could take Illyria to see. The observation deck at the top of the tower was one idea, or the wishing tree at the town center. There was also the graveyard with its graceful little trees... but if there was only really one choice for a place she went just to relax.
"My garden is where I spend most of my time, even when I'm not working on it. I've put the most work into it of anywhere and if I want to relax in the sun, maybe read a book, that's the place I go." She smiled down at the cat in her arms as she headed for the door with a light step. "C'mon, I'll show you. I have a nice place set up for sitting and lounging."
Down the stairs and out through the front doors, then around the side. The garden was visible immediately, standing out from the rest of what they'd seen so far by the controlled chaos of it, the look of something obviously tended and more in an Earth style than an Idan style. Around the outside, the first thing you saw, was a hedge of sunflowers. They formed something of a screen or wall of living green and bright, vibrant flower heads, each one a variation on a shade of purple. An opening in the hedge showed wear in the grass from passing through it, and it was there that Ida took her friend, pausing at the entrance to let her get a look around the irregularly shaped area.
Flowers of every variety clumped in beds scattered everywhere, a path of bark chips winding around and through them. The angle of the sun peeked around the branches of the building and bathed the whole place in light, sparking off wild colors. To the right of the entrance was an informal seating area, a couple yard blankets spread out over the grass and piled with a few cushions, next to a strung up hammock with pale cream cord. Some milk crates stood against the side of the tree building, piled with a few books and gardening tools, along with bottle water and a camp stove ready to make tea.
Ida put Illyria down and stroked her head gently, smiling.
"Feel free to look around if you want."

Having being scooped up into Ida's arms once more did Illyria set off a soft purring. This was what she craved: being held and cossetted but also being able to just allow someone else to feel totally at ease. The Mauvian lay a gentle paw on Ida's arm before peering around at the scenery, "I think I would love that offer. This is by far the most peaceful experience that I've experienced being off of Earth." Illyria fell silent then as she watched everything that flashed by as they left the top level of the tree in which Ida had selected to set up camp in. As they descended the feline took in the surrounding vista before opening up to the potential possibilities of being to come up here more often than not.She would definitely like the sound of being able to put her, okay, sort of limited expertise to use and maybe get things working again. It would mean multiple trips to learn what piece of technology did what and what it would need to get up and running again but if anyone was up to the task, then it was she...especially if she was in present company.
It would be a delight to be able to get things working again and make it feasible for Ida to have something that she rely on being able to use. As they descended to ground level the young cat's gaze settled on a vine-covered hover car before she squirmed to face the direction of the mechanical marvel before tamping down her excitement. If she could get that working again ... well it would be a feat for sure.
But now was not the time for such thoughts. For now Illyria turned her attention to the shifting wall of green that they were coming up on rather quickly. Her eyes widened in pleasant surprise at the multi-hued violet shades that the plants that surrounded the garden came in. Her knowledge of plants was limited but these did resemble the Terran version of sunflowers except the noted different being that they were purple flowering heads. But they were soon forgotten as they passed and Illyria's gaze moved from side to side, taking in everything that she saw. How long had it taken to create such a marvel?
"Oh Ida," she breathed out softly, "this is amazing." And here, even as she was put down onto the ground to be able to explore, did Illyria for a moment just sit and stare up at the person whose loving hands had created this wonderful place. For it was not only the dedication to bring such a place to fruition but also the determination to do so. Her friend hadn't needed to put the effort into her world but she had chosen to do so and the proof was right here. Going to one clump of flowers did Illyria stick her nose into the blooms and inhaled deeply before sneezing at the scents and backing away lest she trample a bloom by accident. Her eyes lit up in appreciation of the smells before the soft sunlight registered along her back. If it was always like this then there was no doubt she would want to continue coming back.
Padding around and taking the time to examine every lovingly tended flower bed took time. Once the circuit had been complete though Illyria moved back towards the area that was obviously meant for relaxation. Her gaze travelled between the blanket and cushion grouping and the hammock that was strung up beside it. It was the blankets that she stepped daintily on before sensing where the softest place would be to settle down. Plopping her rump onto one of the cushions did Illyria give an appreciative sound of contentment. She lay down for a moment, curling up into an experimental ball of fur before sticking her head back out to peer around for her friend. "This is definitely a place that I would be able to get used to. I can see why it relaxes you so."
In her mind Illyria knew that she wanted to be able to come back as often as she could. There was just something so peaceful about being on Ida that she hadn't found on Earth yet. Even if she couldn't come up every single time that Ida travelled here just being able to leave and get a chance to "recharge" would be a blessing. Clearing her throat the young cat sighed before her tail twitched, "I would very much like to keep visiting your asteroid if you are offering. Time up here would be beneficial to anyone lucky enough to have the chance to come."

Ida smiled as she watched the cat wander, settling herself on one of the spread blankets with her knees pulled up. Wrapping her arms around them, she was content to wait and enjoy the sunshine, feeling the energy of her planet seeping up through her feet and legs into her body. It felt so comfortable and she felt the tension leaking out of her, the concerns of her life on Earth feeling very far away at the moment.
This is what she loved, times like this. All the better because she wasn't alone this time. Sharing this, something she loved, with someone she loved, was the best thing. While she waited, she shifted back and dug out a portable speaker and an old ipod, unplugging it from a solar panel she'd been using to charge it. Thumbing through it, classical music began to drift from the speaker in a bright, soothing melody.
When Illyria came to lay on the cushions, Ida lay back beside her and folded her hands over her stomach, closing her eyes to the sunlight over head.
"I would be so happy to have you here as often as you want to come. I like sharing this place." Ida said, her voice sleepy.

Illyria hadn't noticed the soothing melody at first but soon enough her ears began to flick in appreciation for the music that was playing from Ida's speaker setup. She hummed with simple pleasure before padding closer to the supine form of her friend. Her gaze was steely and mischievous as she took all sorts of liberties before scrambling up Ida's side; using her friend as a small climbing post. Tiny paws made biscuits on Ida's stomach as Illyria sought to get comfortable.
Truly this visit was what she had needed to prove to herself that not all outer-space adventures were necessarily bad. The trip to Ida had been an eye-opener in many ways, none most important as the realization that she could shift forms now.
But for now Illyria was content to curl back up into a ball and let the sun gently warm her back. This was the absolute definition of bliss. Being with the one individual she couldn't do without on their homeworld ... just allowing time and space to pass them by. A loud purring started from deep within her chest as she sleepily murmured to Ida, "can we stay together like this forever?"

Eyes closed, Ida smiled and a chuckle bubbled in the chest beneath the little cat paws. Sun warmed and comfortable, all she did was lift hands to cup the small body and work her fingertips into the soft fur, gently stroking Illyria as they lay in the cushions.
"As long as you want, sweetling." She murmured sleepily.
She'd stay here forever, if that's what Illyria wanted.
