It seemed apparent, as soon as Taabu mentioned it, that Sarabi immediately thought of how sickly Uumi was. She didn't want her son viewed like that, for in truth, his inherited sickness was perhaps only half of that which ailed Uumi. "He's not so sick as your son," Syeira said quietly, eyes on the frail Queen of the pridelands. She did offer a smile, though, if only to quell the fear of a worrisome grandmother over a newly discovered blood-kin.
She smiled, though, and slowly sat her body down as Uumi leaned into her, a purr in her maw. She would never bring the true meaning of Taabu's birth to the surface - let the Queen think highly of her son. After all, she owes Uumi that at least. He gave her a beautiful son, she'll give him the glory and love of his mother.
Taabu grinned lightly at his mother's words, one ear twitching delicately at the thought of having to be as sick as his father was. He had seen it many times, both on the journey, and before he was his faher - especially during that uproar with his Gappa. Though, very quickly he let his attention flow back to his new grandmother, tail flicking behind his rumb against the cool stone of the floor.
"I can't call you Gamma, 'cause that's Gamma's name," he said quietly, eyebrows narrowed down to a v, as if this matter were that of complete and utter seriousness. And why should it not be? She couldn't go about without a name! He grinned and simply flickered his tail, listening to the words. "I'll call you bibi, then," he said with a purr, slowly standing and moving forward between the paws of the queen - nuzzling his cranium into the somewhat taut chest of the sickly lion.

Uumi's eyes shut slightly, letting his mind clear of thoughts. He listened to Sye's soft purr, letting it engulf him. He ddin't want to think abot anything right now, though he wasn't sure why.
Now that Taabu and 'bibi' seemed to have finished their talk though, "What of the others, mum? How are they?"

The creamly lioness chuckled, bending her sleek head to lick the top of her grandson's head as he rubbed against her. Already she could see a difference between him and those that had been raised here in the Pridelands. Hopefully some of this ernest good nature would rub off on them. She let her forepaws curl loosely around his small body to form a sort of nest for him. She cuddled the little cub as she raised her eyes to his father, musing on the rest of her offspring. "Well, as I've said, Rehani had three little cubs, and is doing well here. Your sister I have had no news of. Kijito is around here somewhere, and as far as I can tell, is much the same as always." A smile lit her face, a rough purr in her throat. "Your father has returned with Kamilika. Her training is almost complete now. They're going to do a tour, so to speak, of the Pridelands so she may get to know all the creatures we rule over. There have been a lot of new arrivals since you left. Koho and Mwali are here with their six cubs, Jasiri and Sukutu have their six. Rogues seem to be just pouring in, and we've had many join the pride. They're good lions, and will make good additions."

A soft sigh was the only answer she admitted at the name of Ummi's sister, Rehani. Though she had never met the lioness, she did have to wonder what sort of lion she could be to put up with her wretched brother. With a sudden thought on her mind, realizing that perhaps it might be derespectful to obviously make notions of ill thoughts and not explain, she flickered her tail idly. "Rehani is the one that had my brother's cubs," she said quietly, letting her tail idly curl around her forepaws, "my apology if you ever have to meet him." She glanced sidewards to Uumi, watching him in silence . Her eyes were enough to say it - neither of them had very good runs with her wicked and slightly demented brother.
The little cub seemed quite at home to curl up between the body and paw of his bibi, despite not ever really knowing her all so well. With a little purr, his eyes began to shut halfway, only from comfort - not exhaustion in the faintest. At the bad mentions of his uncle though, he frowned, glancing up. Was Uncle Denahi really that bad? Sure, he'd never really paid him much attention, and he really didn't like his daddy, but neither did Gapa.
Poor oblivious little thing.

So they all had their lives, basically. Off doing there on things, as he was doing his thing. It was weird that he'd had a cub with Sye... and his sister had birthed Sye's brother's cubs. His right ear gave a small flick, and slowly his eyes floated down to Taabu, watching him. "Have you met him at all yet, mother? Has Rehani even spoken to you about him?" He glanced up to his mother before again watching Taabu.

Sarabi smiled down at her grandson, her paw curling to cradle the small body more securely. She'd missed this, being a mother at heart. Sadly, there would be no more cubs in her future save grandchildren. This fragile body made such a feat impossible. The creamy lioness nodded lightly, bringing up her eyes to meet those of her son. "Yes, she brought him to me. I've accepted him into the pride so he might raise his children with your sister. I hope that it will turn out well." Her tufted tail flicked lightly from side to side as she lay, a small smile on her face. Rehani's cubs were a joy to her, as was little Tabuu.

Uumi frowned at this. He hated Denahi more than he hated Sye's father, even. And Sye's father had spawned Denahi, so it was his fault for Denahi's existance. But it didn't matter, Uumi thought Denahi was the biggest scum he'd ever met. "Well. Whatever you feel is right, mother." He said slowly, shifting and standing. "I grow tired." Was all he said before he nuzzled into his mother and slipped away.

Syeira frowned as she glanced from the corroding lioness and then back the son she had long since been missing. She knew how Uumi felt towards her brother - and Syeira and Denahi had become strangers as well, but it was sad that Uumi would hold it against his own mother for liking the git. Well, perhaps not holding against her exactly, but it made him quite irritated she was sure.
With a little sigh, it was only a gentle smile she could offer to the once beautiful and mejestic lioness - her head dipping as she moved closer to nose the young cub between her paws, the child of her own that was growing weary and sleepy.
"It was nice to meet you Sarabi," she said quietly, eyes flickering up to meet those of the old Queen. "I think your son needs his beauty sleep," she said with a soft laugh, noding to the sickly lioness with a passionate smile lingering on her maw.
"Come on Taabu," she said, turning her back on the older lioness and beginning to exit, watching her mate slink off before her.
Taabu frowned as he watched both his parents dissapear into the distance and exit the den that had been made for the Queen of the pridelands. He frowned, turning back quickly enough to lick at her maw, a small sheepish smile forshadowing the reluctance to leave priderock, "bye bye Bibi," he murmured. Then with a quick step, he raced to catch up behind his mother's heels.

A small sigh slipped from the Queen's maw as her son brushed against her and moved off. "I can only hope that it is the right thing..." She murmured, more to herself then to the disappearing form. A sweet smile moved acrossed her own tired face as she cast her eyes to her son's mate, nodding to her. "It is my pleasure, Syeira. I'm so happy that you brought Taabu to see me, and that I got to see my son again. I hope you three will come to visit me again soon." She purred deeply as she dipped her head to return the lick from her grandson with a nuzzle of her own, opening her paws to let him slip free to join his parents. "Good bye, Taabu. Take care of your parents, ok?"
The slender form settled back on the floor of the den, watching the trio till they disapeared around the corner. Her mother's heart ached a little to see this little part of her family leaving her, once again feeling like she was meerly a ghost that was holding on too tightly to life. Sighing softly, she glanced around at her very empty den, then settled her chin on her paws to sleep. She'd be able to go out into the sun when she woke, and then at least try to forget how alone she was while she watched the hustle and bustle of Prideland's life from the lip of Priderock.
