"Right. Difficult part begins when we find the culprit." He sighed. "Don't want to cut off another ear and lock it in a freezer." That hadn't worked on Hopeite, and thus she had left. But Hopeite was never one of his own, nor did he regard her with much warmth of respect when he had known her as an ally. Dealing with his own team would be something quite different — might be that the person talking wouldn't respond to maiming, or would ******** off to the arms of those idiots after the first threats for insubordination.

Were it anyone outside of his team, Faustite would have settled on the death pemalty. He wondered — could he put down Jadarite? He might be able to break Tama's neck with little remorse for the furry, insufferable b*****d, but what about Alkmene's sister, Lilith? Or Heliodor?

"Need to handle it sooner than later —" But Albite was already talking again, losing his s**t over something while Faustite felt his muscles clench beneath his fuku. The burning boy sat up from where he had previously been gleaning affection, irritated at the interruption for having halted that. His anger tempered into curiosity, however, when he saw a pair of papers materialize before them. His eyes grew half lidded as he separated from his husband enough to pick his up. Flame eyes scanned over the page; rather than flaring anger, Faustite's brows narrowed.

He turned it over, then faced it toward himself again. The paper began to blacken under his grip.

"Shut up a moment." Faustite shouldered into his boy enough to read his Post-It briefly. After a beat, he nodded to himself. "These are from Sylvite. See that symbol? Matches this one here. Matches the moon signs I saw on her outfit.

"Don't know how to respond. Do we write on it? Is it bugged — can she hear us too? Hey," Faustite raised his voice as he sat up straight. "Didn't care that you kissed him! It was the talking that mattered! Ugh," he scoffed, and sat back against his boy with a dramatic sigh.

"Knights can make ghost-it notes---" how in the ever-loving ********, why was it ghost-it notes?! How did they find them! Albite hadn't the faintest clue, grunting as he was shouldered into position and became a better hunk of warm body for Faustite to lean on. It was almost easier to arrange himself that way, putting the safety of an all-consuming-fire between the spooky paper shells and himself; between his legs n those same said bits of glittery ire, just in case, never hurt to be extra careful!

"H-heey! How come you got the glitter heart n all I got were frowny faces!? She likes you better or sumth'," in his petulant surprise, he suspected it had more to do with Nectaris respect for Faustite than anything else. Not that it stopped him from crumpling the short bit of cuteness into a tiny ball between his hands once read. He could hear Sylvites voice in every short, bubbly letter and frowned deeply for all the context he lacked about whatever conversations on kissing had happened between his meeting her and his boy's run in, "whatever, I say we burn 'em. Just in case they can see us or -- the hell knows -- this shits all so --- Yeah, that--" he felt Faustites sigh, the frustration in it, wished he could've emulated that sort of tchtd unease his beloved managed so sexily. Lacking the ability to manage that? He opted for holding his crumpled ghostling up for sacrifice. He would've felt better better being safe than sorry and seen them burned, just in case ghosts had ears -- or glittery tracking devices -- or any number of spooky attachments that he was unaware of. Especially since he had about as many answers for how the things worked as he did for how emails happened. Might as well have been magic for how little he understood of it all!

"The hell'd you two talk about anyways? Wait--what'd she say we talked about?" the words meandering into muffled silence at their tail. Being still n shutting up was easier if he busied his mouth by burying it somewhere, the joint of a shoulder and neck. If his hands found the same belt loops that Faustite worried into frayed edges under anxious claws, and ******** with the surprisingly soft leather there. Something about it all being worn down n touched by heat at once...

"Wh —" Faustite couldn't get the word out before he began laughing, now enduring a whirlwind of mirth in the wake of Albite's impromptu joke. How the ******** was he surrounded by so many clever boys? And how was this boy able to say anything clever, when his other clever boy, Celadonite, classified him as a himbo? Wasn't that illegal? Did Albite know no laws or common sense deductions in the universe?

Ghost-it notes, though… Eventually, Faustite laughed enough that he had to give up and cover his face in his hands and will himself to grab a breath in between barking laughs. It wasn't quite right to say his sides or his stomach hurt from the sudden eruption of chuckles, but his chest soon grew tired of dragging around bolted metal. His intercostals felt like a stitch formed between a few of them, and he was struggling to normalize his breathing again. After a few breaths and a concerted effort to ignore Albite's little pun, he was able to get back to a baseline. A sigh of relief for ********," he muttered, as if chasing all that fiasco with a curse would rectify it somehow. And it did — Faustite always felt better after some invective.

Faustite settled more fully against his boy once Albite was done squirming around. "Maybe she likes it when boys try to kill her. Ask her next time, since you're seeing her again." The latter part of that was spoken with some imperative, and if Albite tried to brook an argument with that, he was getting a highly unimpressed stare from his boy.

After he spoke, he took up the two Ghost-Its and poked them between the bars of his grate. They incinerated almost immediately, giving off only a faint puff of burnt paper. If there was anything to track what they did or said, it was either burnt out of existence, or it was living inside of Faustite forever. The thought of that panicked him; he might've just rendered himself the Negaverse's biggest, most unintentional mole by doing so. Still, the White Moon oft proved itself so impossibly inept that he should assume nothing of the sort was created and sent to him.

"Mm, that's the conundrum. We didn't talk about much — lost my temper at her, she said she wanted to give me a chance to be friends. Said you and I were close, that you wanted to give her a chance, kissed her, too. Asked her what you two talked about, but she didn't say. Then we got into a fight.

"So — what'd she say to you that she so wanted to protect?"

"No shame in losing your temper. S'kinda justified, all things considered," hummed warmth, and oh, that laugh --- and he wouldn't point out how much he loved the sound and sigh that followed, how absolutely pleased he was that after everything they'd been through? Faustite could find him funny. He beamed quietly for it behind his boys back, took the settling weight and coalesced into some form of relaxation with his husband in his arms.

"That'd be a hell of a twist," no denials to bark up like some small, whiny dog against the claim of 'next times', the sun would rise and set, he'd run into Nectaris again. Some s**t was just an inevitability; like moons, n tides, n other allegories of those types, "though maybe I shouldn't be surprised by it? Cyb's seemed to think she had the ability for violence, though her ex-team figured her sweet as sugar...."

He watched the Ghost-it's die in small plumes of ash, there and gone in a burning blink. Tried to rake his brain for everything he'd gone over with her.

"M'of the firm belief that the princess lied to her in order to gain her trust. Found herself an easy out with a good officer who wavered for just a moment. I asked her to question the truth of things, if ever she ran into Gany again," Albite hadn't known Alexa had been depressed, had considered becoming a Youma. All he saw were bright smiles and good times, brief as their interactions were with everything else going on. He'd failed her in that, missing what was going on behind the scenes......

He'd told her she could've been a cute youma....what was wrong with that? Youma we're totally cute! She hadn't looked happy though, she'd wanted to be a person. He only wished she'd stayed a person with them.

"She still doesn't know I was there for that ambush--or even that it happened, at least not the details of it," a good bit of doing that only so few had, a better bit of doing that he'd played youma all the way through along with 'Spots'. The less people who knew he'd been there? The better it was turning out to be, "She hadn't known I'd been down to visit Gany in person-- till we talked about that, briefly. She seemed to think the Princess was tortured -- n maybe it was torture of a kind? But...." from his point of view they'd been merciful, tactfully lenient even, the way they kept her alive. Oh, yes, her wings were as much a mess as the rest of her, but transcendence offered a nice protective barrier of the soul -- if not the mind.

Real zappy looking glowy bits Gany had all over herself!

"Everything else was stuff we shoulda talked about before that I needed to settle, feelings, marriage, monogamy, poly-stuff. No names, just viewpoints. We apologized to each other for where we failed to communicate before. She still has very firm beliefs on--on things she doesn't quite remember telling me about, privately." And if Nectaris was an enemy? Alexa -- Livi -- Oh she'd just been a girl, not an innocent girl by any means, not naïve, not really. Some people were just sweet. Some people? Just wanted hugs and nothing more.

"The worst part of this whole thing is---" and he hadn't really been thinking about it then, what it meant that Nectaris thought his love existed only in objects tangible as a ring, that he didn't have room in his heart for more than just one person. That atop the idea that she would've gone through with leaving, married or not, "--that I know now, there wasn't really anything I could've done to keep her here longer. I needed to find that out though--even if it was like this." He was glad to know where he stood with her. To know where she stood in regards to them. All her want of friendship until it proved to be some unattainable thing —

*It was going to get her messily killed.*

Albite thought, in his weakness, that she deserved a kinder end. He hoped Zuzubee got to her first, or -- anyone save her new chosen family, because who knew how they handled people getting in their way? Not everyone was Albireo. Some people were like Cybele, respectably unwavering.

"To know that she wants to stop all the wrongs, and right all the rights -- on both sides of the aisle. Heh, to save everyone. Even me. Which means I'd probably make damned good bait! At Least until she figures out even one more thing about me. Cause then she'd probably find me irredeemable, too." He knew she would've left him over her own beliefs, eventually, respected her for that. The way she drew hard lines that she was unwilling to see crossed. That his own reality meant he wouldn't've left her for anything in the world if she'd stayed. Hell, even her turning point had only dissuaded him briefly; and that was more riled up confusion than actual hatred, cause he just didn't understand what'd gone wrong! He was mad for reasons, and then sad for them, and then?

Then he could love her distantly until the loving stopped. All his love existed right alongside his staying, though, and he hadn't exactly clarified that, had he?

"Cause I don't intend to leave here. Not ever. All these people existing while missing so much of themselves....if ever I couldn't remember...if I woke up seventeen again on any given day? You're too precious to me, all my memories are, but especially these ones, right here," he didn't know what he would've done, shook his head to dislodge the rainy thought and clasped his hands over the front of Eion's fires while watching the glow seep through. Eion was so snuggly like this, even metal wire n thin bones. Waru could enjoy the luxury of guiltless touch--

"Obviously she did," Faustite pointed out as his finger traced his point through the air. "She fought for us. Was trained by us. Drained energy with us. Know she'd gotten into a scrap with Cybele in the woods before. Bet those blades weren't completely clean." He turned his head to glance up at the boy.

It was always troublesome to do so — couldn't escape looking into that face without pressing a kiss to it. Something soft and feathered against Albite's jawline before he settled back in his spot against his boy.

"You think highly of her," and Faustite sighed wistfully. "Want to believe she naively made the wrong decision. The White Moon has a way with words, true, the Princess especially. Seed of doubt only grows in fertile soil. though. Something must have been on her mind or she would've brushed off any empty promises." Which would mean, of course, that Sylvite had to be a margin disillusioned in the Negaverse. It was the only explanation he could deduce, given that only a trusted few had access to that cage, and none of the others came away with the idea of leaving. Only Sylvite betrayed them. Only Sylvite let her out. Was that not indicative of as much?

Faustite scoffed, then rolled his eyes. "Didn't burn her feet like I did with Cybele. Left her mostly unscathed." Save for mild burns from the necessity of touching her. Around the ankles, on her chest, but she hadn't complained about it like it was torture. They talked, though — maybe that was the torture. He knew he was a terrible conversationalist.

"Huh, domestic s**t," Faustite summed up once Albite finished his explanation. He didn't know what else he could've expected out of them, if anything. Sounded like there were no plans for Albite to run off in the night with her, unless marriage included — "You're not leaving to join her." Faustite stated sharply, in case his boy had gotten an unruly idea in his thick skull.

"You are irredeemable," Faustite teased with a smile, then ran a gentle claw down the boy's jawline. "Have to put you down someday. Might make it today." He turned to face his boy fully, to push him back onto the recessed bed. "Make you scream like you're seventeen again."
