Oh, he’d been, and it was nice to go on about. Kicking lazily and watching the sun reflect off the water n bathe Trey’s skin in golden-blues, his grin only growing for when he took the watch out thr water and found it still ticking on steady as a heart beat, “Off the coast of Kibri in Cameroon, Crescent beach in Cali, here— Oh! The Bahamas once, near Nassau, waters crystal there,” and he found the breath to go on, frowning for how Trey n Emmy would’ve been good friends - what with how responsible they both were.

A shame — to have the money and the power - and only use it as intended. As if bricks couldn’t be hammers too - easily as they could be keys, and dive weights — and —-

“Warmer waters are best, acourse, but everything gets cold once you get deep enough. Sadly Nassau’s ******** tapped for good fish. S’just those ******** slugs and though conch makes for pretty shells? I think it’s s**t for food.”

Things he did and things he didn’t — he leveled Trey with a look — “Things I will and won’t eat — all boils down to whatever can give you brain worms. So — no slugs, snails, no brains of most things, and I don’t need the pistolas off them things for what the locals say their good for,” a wink tossed Trey’s way for that admission, not that he hadn’t tried those spindly little stamens, n half gagged for the slime of its tubelike texture.

“Since you don’t wanna abuse power tho, ever thought of chartering a boat? I’ve been trying to get Faustite on one for an age. The water out here’s cold — murky — but there’s some places where the ocean n sea meet — it’s be fun to just take a metal detector out there, or go magnet fishing!”

It was a start of an idea, or at least the start of a bevy of ten thousand terrible ones.

“Cause you gotta make the time to be responsibly irresponsible every once in awhile Trey, we bring in the energy like we do, s’not like we’re gonna be struck down for playing fast n loose with what’s rightfully earned.”

He wanted to remind the man he could’ve had a planet, a solar system, a life giving star; why not abuse some teleportation just a little?

Well, that tracked, then. Waru's interest was because he'd done it before, and assumed that free diving and the kind of swimming Trey did were the same because both involved being in water. Trey wasn't entirely sure if he liked the idea or not. It could be fun, if he could get over the feeling of unease it gave him to think about all that open sea around him and all the animals in it. What if they got attacked by a shark, or something else with too many teeth?

He rolled his eyes at Waru's innuendo and let it pass, lazily sweeping his arms through the water. Trey had not considered pairing diving with getting food. That seemed... weird, but then, he'd never had the kind of life where acquiring food was a pursuit. His mother certainly never went fishing, god forbid.

"I wouldn't be against visiting the Bahamas. I've done some traveling for fashion shows, but it could be nice to choose on my own and go just to go." He admitted, shrugging his shoulders to make the water slosh around his ears. "But again, I'm not teleporting myself all the way there. I teleport around the city, of course, when its advantageous, but I also like driving my car. People are also used to seeing my car, and showing up without it would raise questions."

"What would be the point of magnet fishing? All you'd find is trash. I don't imagine there are all that many sunken ships full of treasure or lost wedding rings." He said, a little smirk pulling at his lips. "I can also see why Faustite might be reluctant to get on a boat, considering all the water surrounding him, his being on literal fire, and the very real chance he could burn the boat down with us on it. Is three hours enough time to go out with a boat?"

“Hey now, one mans trash is another mans really expensive Raybands, or diving compass, or wallet chain…Not gonna lie? The amount of old mines n boat parts you find in some places is ******** insane. If we’re on a touristy beach though? You’ll probably pull up more bottle caps n fishing lures then anything.” his words as rapid fire as his thoughts, because the fact that Trey was even considering his idea was exciting as ********! He was sure the man had earned some well deserved free time to go along with all of his hard work.

Knew that maybe all his work left no room for play.

Waru thought, randomly, that Trey n Emmy were cut of the same cloth, professional people keeping up professional appearances because they had those kinda extraordinary and highly public lives to lead. The sort that needed that specific sorta protective layering n forethought — like about abandoned high end cars. He wanted to encourage them to meet, someday, if only to have nothing more than a decent conversation full of smart words n the kinda silent glances that communicated meaning well beyond his own understanding.

“N you’ve gotta remember, m’the same sort that convinced said man-on-fire to get wasted at the least health conscious hospital christening I’ve ever been to—“ not to mention the one who’d pushed his boy to play outta bounds. He prided himself on making the worst ideas tangible, if not practice, made all sorts of ripples to parallel Trey’s lazy calm, a host of delinquent little splashes, as Waru circled like someone who thought he had as many teeth in his head as any sweetly hungry shark that lived out beyond a reef.

“So! Points to me for making bad ideas sound good and functional, at least some of the time? Besides! The Bahamas have got over seven-hundred islands, pirate caches, sandbars — tell me we can’t find one to stash our boy on, or — oh, ********, you could get us all on a yacht out there? Time between on the boat and on an island can make those three hours seem like enough if is the right kinda boat.” Eyes wide and full of imagination as his endless grin. Hedging ever closer to some sort of point. The same point as he’d always wanted to make with Trey maybe. That the man should have what he wanted, that all he needed to do was ask and he’d have it.

The Bahamas. Fast Cars. A Promotion. That Waru would nudge eagerly towards all options even if nothing ever came of it.

“Course, if that’s not an option? Germany. I’ve always wanted to go see what the autobahn is all about. You could play with your fast cars—I could ride b***h.”

"I can buy new Raybands that haven't been molding at the bottom of the ocean."

There was a smirk inside Trey as he answered, but he kept his voice bland and even when he spoke. It was true, after all, even if he meant it as a tease.

"I suppose the surprise is the point of the thing."

It could be an interesting adventure, though he wasn't quite sure how much he'd enjoy being stuck on a boat with Waru. Faustite might mitigate some of that, or at least be a distraction from Trey, but it was a bit of a strange thought, the three of them getting together to do something that was supposed to be fun and recreational. Trey felt like there were different faces he showed to each man and he wasn't entirely sure how well those would mesh when he had to deal with them together. Faustite might not appreciate some of the thinly veiled snark he often leveled at Waru, for example. Waru might appreciate some of the thinly veiled flirting he did with Faustite though.

The whole thing was silly to dwell on though. It wasn't like he was seriously considering any of it. Would he consider it, if the opportunity actually presented itself? Maybe. He didn't know anyone with a yacht he could call in a favor to, but maybe if he put some work into it, he might find something.

"I want to say its not a virtue to be able to make bad ideas sound good, but... I suppose there is enough of that in what I do." He said after a moment, considering German and fast cars. Trey was disinclined to ship his car to germany just to drive it around, but maybe if he could, again, find someone he could call in a favor from. Or, maybe if he could convince his mother a photoshoot with some sexy cars would be the perfect foil to one of her design lines... Maybe. A lot of maybes. She had liked the photos he'd done with Waru on a whim, though she'd given him some significant and searching looks for such an out-of-character activity.

"Why ride b***h? Wouldn't you want to drive them yourself?" He said as he rolled over in the water, getting his limbs under him as his hair flowed over his bare back. He slanted a glance at Waru as he paddled lazily, sweeping limbs through the water. "You're always so eager to follow after me. Do you not want to be the one in the lead?"

"Course you could. ********, you could get 'em custom and replaced times ten, huh?" and Waru laughed like a burst of bubbles, because even though he was literally swimming in it, he knew he was probably going to keep forgetting the fact that Trey's wealth was extensive in a way that didn't just mean he lived comfortably and had the nicest, shiniest of things. Though the idea of encouraging him to fish for molding Raybands at the bottom of the sea just to get a glimpse of the look on his face after doing it?

Priceless.

As priceless as the joy he'd get from selling Trey on the best of the worst of his ideas, all for the sake of flashy bits of fun. Well earned fun. Twisting to watch the fan of black waves that spread around Treys lithe form. Waru had to bite his lip at all of the thoughts the mans new asks dredged up, cause he knew deep down in the blurry back of his waterlogged brain that Trey didn't mean 'in the bedroom'.

Unless he did? Facets of life that bled over at the edges until there were little traces of them in everything. Coulda been a question aimed like that -- coulda been...

"Yanno---" like the words he actually wanted were hard to mix into something like sentences. Language was some science-like chemistry s**t that he'd never really had any more a knack for that than he'd had for baking. Cooking! Cooking could be as experimental as ever he wanted it to be, but portraying a thought concisely? He couldn't always just throw it at the wall and hope it'd stick. "---so---it's like this, right? Like -- there's the desire -- but only if I believe, deep, deep down that the person I'm leading is the kind that'd be interested in following. Cause there's being *pushy* about s**t that needs to be pushed, n then there's crossing a line?"

And then there was the fiery car crash of an aftermath where his leading was only good if he didn't have to worry about anyone else suffering the inevitable consequences of it.

"Though I guess none of that has ******** all to do with actually being in charge, right? Er, with the desire for it?" and it was a wonder that he floated at all with all his talking, that air stayed in his lungs long enough to let him manage such a feat. "Nah--- in this scenario? The reality of the thing is that you look good in the drivers seat of a car. You get this focus on your face that's not just 'guy watching the road' bland. It's kinda showy. I like it. N'it's too rare a sight to not enjoy it as a passenger. Like, to just soak it all in lazy-like, but even more so at high speeds?" his admiration blatantly obvious as the wide, sunny grin on his face. No point in hiding his joy at the game he'd started by being a straight up nuisance. That he planned to play out upon for as long as Trey allowed. "So I'll offer to ride b***h if it's driving. Just like I'd offer to be in charge if it was diving."

"'Sides, you of all people deserve a bit of lead-rope. As much's the world'll give you, n'less you're asking me to put you in a scenario where I'm in charge?" How much would he balk n bristle at that? How fun would that be to see? Even when Trey gave an inch to seniority, gave up centimeters of bend to rank, there was something about that lacquered n trained elegance of a perfect host that'd always made Waru want to look for a lie...

Or maybe he was just looking for the imperfection of humanity that sat beyond most Senshi's glittering guise.

Trey let his head sink down into the water until it lapped around his cheeks, leaving only his eyes and nose above the surface. His eyes narrowed at Waru thoughtfully, the water hiding some of his surprise at the words that came from the man.

Everyone who had admired Trey, or desired him, did so because he was attractive, but the kind of attractive that was a pose in a picture, or a magazine, or from a distance. It was because of performance on his part, because he had styled himself as something to look at and admire. Designed for others to be looking.

While Waru babbled on, Trey considered that comment with something almost like embarrassment. Like something to blush over, when he'd long grown out of blushing because of something a simple as admiration. Of any time the two had been together, he had not considered that short time in the car as a moment when Waru should have been admiring him... and it had been a time when he had not been precisely trying for anything of the sort. He liked driving. He liked the snappy way he wove through traffic in his responsive little car, and he liked pushing people around somewhere they couldn't really respond, didn't know who he was like he didn't know who they were. And Waru had enjoyed watching that. Trey wasn't entirely sure what to do with that.

And as off kilter as he was then, his mind only went one way when proposed the idea of a scenerio that put Waru in charge. As incongruous as it was to the rest of the conversation, Trey found himself actually blushing this time and he ducked under the water, pushing off with long strokes towards the edge of the pool. The cool water helped bring the heat down and when he surfaced, he was able to cover whatever was left with facing the cement wall and not the man behind him.

Streaming water, his hair stuck to his shoulders, Trey heaved himself out of the pool with as much of a casual air as he could muster.

"Some day I'll have that lead rope." He said over his shoulder as he wrung water out of his hair. "Until then, enjoy your new watch and your head start."

Some day he'd have what he'd worked so hard for. Until then, and maybe even after, he was never going to drive a car with Waru in it. He'd end up in a ditch from the distraction.
