"Mm," Elka hummed, leaning more over the book as she considered what she knew of each place. Oba and Sauti had too many cons to reconsider, so that left Matori and Tale. Tale, the place of the Leaf Tribe. Kayde's Tribe. Not that the fact mattered much, when he didn't know where his parents might be in there or any other members of his family. Other than that, nothing else was appealing about the place to her.
Than there was Matori. Sandy beaches everywhere, like a tropical vacation. Except for the daily rains. Still, that meant they might be able to save a bit of money by setting up raincatchers. That appealed to her. Her imagination could just picture a romantic shack along the sandy shore, flowers woven in the roof, close enough to the water to have a daily dip in the early morning, than a cool drink from the raincatcher just outside the door. Yeah. That definitely appealed to her the most out of their options.
"Matori." Elka sat back, finally taking back her hand and placing them both demurely in her lap. She said it simply, not bothering to give an explanation and sat proudly watching for Kayde's reaction to her decision. It made her feel...Good. Like she was finally taking some charge in her life, like something was finally going to happen. Instead of this stale everyday that she had here at the inn. Fetching things for customers, fetching things for the owner, always busy cleaning something. Oh Goddess, she hated cleaning.
Quickly, she offered up a silent apology to Bergchi for the negative use of the title.

Kayde could see the gears in her head turning, her fingers absently turning the pages of the book he had brought. Yeah, it had been pointless to bring it, she wasn't even looking at the pages as she turned, her eyes a little glassed over as she thought about the options given. A page of Zena in freshly fallen snow was replaced by the savannah's of Sauti than to a beautiful sketch of the trees just outside the city they currently resided in, clusters of crystals along the roots. A small smile was on his lips, as was often there when he was with her.
When Elka declared her decision so easily, he couldn't help laughing a little under his breath. Everything about her was so innocent and adorable, how did no one else seem to see that?
Clearing his throat, Kayde closed the book and picked it up, holding it for the moment in his lap, underneath the palms of his hands. "Is that your final answer?" There would be no turning back once the decision was made. At least not for many years after the move was made, if she decided somewhere else sounded better after all. He didn't want to pack up and move somewhere else anymore. He wanted a stable life, where he could set down roots,

"Yes. That is my final answer." Elka nodded her head with her words, feeling more sure by the second that this was the correct answer, at the same time shoving any doubts she might be having deep in the back of her brain. This really was the worse of the options given. The only other place to go was across the sea, which she didn't want to do. Though she didn't want to go back to Zena, she still wanted to keep her family somewhat close. Maybe a time would come when she could see them, again, and be confident in telling them about her chosen relationship. Maybe she'd even marry Kayde one day and than what could her family do about that one? A marriage was harder to break up than a simple relationship was.
The thought brought a smile to her face and a slight flush to her cheeks, imagining what life would be like if they did marry. Which naturally brought her mind to the idea of children. Leaf/Ice hybrid children would be adorable. Elka had never had a prejudice against the others races like a lot of her own Tribe did. She thought some of the combinations quite beautiful and exotic and sometimes wished she could have a few traits from another. Such as the white hair of a Shifter. Wouldn't that look enchanting with all other Ice features? Like a true being made completely of ice.
"Yes. I think this is a good choice," Elka added, her voice going a bit dreamy in her thoughts.

The distracted look on her face had gone unnoticed by the Leaf man sitting beside her on the bed, the large space still between them as he put the book back in the bag. He had bought it with his own money just yesterday and, while it may have been useless for this meeting, he was sure it would come in handy in the future. It wasn't a small book, so surely it had more to it than either of them knew about each continent. The Matori chapter would be especially helpful, now that they have decided where to go. Even with the final decision made, he still had no opinions either way about where they went. He was sure he could have even handled Zena, and not for the reasons of the snow and cold.
Once everything was back in the bag, Kayde held it on his lap. He had expected a big decision like that to have taken more time. He had a little work later in the day to do, but that was still hours away. Without the distraction of the book and maps, he was keenly aware that he was inside Elka's room. Though sounds of the inn could easily be heard outside the closed door, the fact it was closed still gave them a lot of privacy.
"This is a cozy room," he commented, looking around it a bit nervously.

Elka blinked back into existence when Kayde spoke, remembering she wasn't alone in the room. She'd never actually had anyone back here, especially not a guy. The longer they remained in here with the door closed, the more suspicious Pamalaya would become about what they were doing. It wouldn't be long after they emerged that the teasing and knowing looks would start. The Wind girl would never let up once she got some juicy gossip. Whether anything had actually happened or not meant nothing to her.
At the moment, though, Elka realized she didn't really care. Without the distraction of the book or the maps, she was very aware of the man's presence there, sitting with a wide gap between them. With a slightly mischievous smile, she scooted closer, quickly closing the distance between them, but still keeping a little bit of space between their hips.
"Kayde," Elka said softly, looking at him with her head tilted. "Why do you look like you're about to bolt? Stay a little while~" And before he could give an answer, she leaned over and kissed him.
