Lioe wandered along the shelves and picked out a couple items. He hadn't needed to stop at the store, but since he was there, he might as well top off. He was thinking over the other shops they could stop at. The family would like fresh produce as well, maybe cheeses as well? Things that will stay good for a weekend.
He looked at the offered package with confusion, and Uzumati's react to it even more so. He leaned forward for a sniff and yanked his head back with a wrinkle of his nose. "Ugh. No, not really." He turned his head to look over the label on the package. "Might be safer just to leave that here." He imagined that someone in the family would enjoy it, but no point in making the others suffer!

At least he wasn't alone in that decision. Uzumati nodded as he carefully placed the package back, a rare smile on his lips at Lioe's reaction which had matched his own. There were a few more that he grabbed, the man pausing as he found some strange dried fruits that he had never seen before. Since he had never found a fruit that he didn't like the man simply scooped them up as well for his basket.
"Nothing spicy." Uzumati teased as he walked back up towards Lioe and peered at his own selection. "Ready?" He asked with curiosity as he took a final look around the store, grabbing a few more bags of jerky since he tended to enjoy a lot of that personally.

Oh, that was a legitimate smile! Well, that wasn't so scary. He was tempted to let Uzumati know.. but he was talking enough as it was. Lioe just smiled back. It was also nice to know that there was something else that they agreed on. He looked down at his choices, just a couple average meats and fruits. Nothing fancy or exotic. "No, nothing spicy." He managed an amused smile and turned for the counter with a nod. He was ready. He headed over to the counter and rang the little bell to alert the worker.
The young man set down his clipboard and went to the counter. He wasted little time with chatter, opting to just add up the totals without questions.
Lioe got his items and stepped aside to make way for Uzumati's purchases. "Anything else? Cheese or produce?"

Uzumati ended up tossing in just a few extra things as a precaution. He truly wasn't certain how much food they would need and the last thing he wanted to do was go hunting in Belrea, not when he was doing his best to appear civilized around Padma's family. Not that he thought anything he did before was wrong but it did feel terribly out of place in the city. Even he could recognize that despite his own uncomfortable appearance and these strange habits. Still though he felt like there was a slight shift in his companion and he could not help the small smile that crossed his lips at the question. "Cheese." He repeated as he tucked his new purchases into a second bag that hung from his back. So far they had a good haul with the pastries and bread tucked safely inside of one and the other one now had his dried meats and fruit with plenty of room for cheese to be added in. Hopefully that would be good and maybe they could find some other fruits and the like along the way for the upcoming family vacation…within a vacation.

Lioe nodded again and lead the way outside. This was going fairly well. Maybe he should give in and go on the trip to the cottage?
Nah. Better not push it. He smirked to himself and headed for their next stop. He would take as long as Uzumati needed, within reason. He couldn't wait to get home and into the comfort of his room. With everyone about to leave for the weekend, he was about to have his own vacation!
