She was a little surprised to see he listened. She figured after the first time he wouldn't. Then of course her mother yelled at her but she tilted her head as she watched Syaa. "Because he's too tall for me to do this."
Kina leaned forward to kiss his cheek. Her own way of saying thanks for helping her today. While she'd actually said the words it wasn't enough. Especially since he'd warmed her up and carried her after such an ordeal. And falling into the river was a big deal to her. Had Syaa not been there she might have cried about it.

He was reasonably sure his heart stopped for about two breaths. He hadn’t been expecting that from the tiny fairy queen. His eyes were wide and his face was open emotionally. Butterflies started doing trapeze in his stomach. He had felt a certain kind of tension or passion since he had met her the first time but the wall around her heart had been fully up. She had kissed him in the cheek. He felt like he could still feel her lips there.

The boy was in a word poleaxed. Nin was excited that she had been right. The ice around her daughters as yet untouchable heart might just be starting to melt for real. Ahe felt like maybe today would be a family holiday. Did ahe have the ingredients for Lina’s favorite cake?
“Yes, quite tall,” she couldnt wipe the grin off her face. Better, this was better

She didn't want to make a big deal out of what she'd done so she leaned away and cleared her throat. Looking at her mother she pretended nothing happened. "My clothes are still damp. Help me to my room so I can change?" Likely she would have to throw her outfit away. Kina was particular about her clothes. "I also need to fix my hair. It's a mess." And Syaa had gotten to see her in her less than perfect state no less.

He supposed he could just lneel here forever but it would be harder for Nin to collect her daughter. “I will be outside if you need me.” He needed a bit if fresh air. He could think better in fresh air, or so he told himself. It had been a sweet gesture on her part, proof that she indeed had a heart. He wouldnt think to hard on it, he lied to himself.

She handed Syaa his tea and set hers and Kina’s down for a moment. “Of course Ny,” she collected her daughter who was slightly taller than she. Kina took after her Dad in height. The difference in stature made Nin a good crutch. She made a good show of it too.

She heard him say he'd be outside and only looked at him. Her cold nature taking over. When her mother helped her she nearly forgot that she had to lean on her for her fake injury. However, once she remembered she glanced at Syaa before turning her attention away. She just needed to get to her room so she could have a private place to complain to her mother. To say Kina had some reservations about a family dinner involving her savior was an understatement.

It was like a switch, the moment he said he was going outside the other personality took over Kina. Interesting. He went outside with his tea and looked over the burgeoning life of the place. The house was a mansion compared to what he was used to. Then agian he adored being outside. It was also proper that the lady get some time to put herself to rights. He liked her soggy and wet and clinging to him, but she liked to be beautiful..secret was she was always beautiful..he paused..he must be sick, he was becoming half way romantic.

She helped her daughter to the bathroom and her room. "You look good for a dip in a river, honestly." She smiled. At least Kina could put herself back together now. "What exactly happened?" She was curious, obviously Kina had gotten away but had anything happened before she had been launched into the river?'
A mother was always concerned. No less so because Kina was strong, Nin was also strong and there were still days that Kiyelt held her so she could fall asleep even.

She did what acting she could before they were out of eye sight, then she was walking normal. "My clothes are still damp and my hair is a mess. Not fit for being in public." And she might not be in public but there was a non family member around.
When asked what happened she sighed. "Pair of bandits decided they wanted my jewelry. I didn't have my spear so I ran. I'm not handing over my things. I just forgot there was a river there." So when she tried to correct her direction it didn't go well. "Syaaryn helped. I did trick him into carrying me though. Didn't think anyone was gonna be home." As she spoke she was picking out a new outfit and changing. "Why are you home? Kinda ruined my plans."
When she was dressed in a dry outfit, just another skirt and top, she went to grab her brush. With it I hand she snatched a hair tie then motioned for her mother to help her back out.

He wandered around a bit but did not stray too far from the house. It had a good atmosphere, this place of hers and he wondered why she was so chilly toward others sometimes. Had it been her upbringing or was it a quirk of her personality. She was a mystery for sure but there was no mistake that she had cuddled him the whole way here.

“I cant remember the last time your father carried me anywhere, perhaps i will have to fake a sore ankle soon as well. Dont let Einsol get too close, or the triplets.” Nin assisted her daughter where she could in fixing her back towards perfection. She knew how important looking good was to her daughter and as she finished she hugged her tightly. “I am so very glad you are okay, we owe that boy more than a meal, do you think he would want a janarim or snaptotter pup?”

She could only look at her mother as she said she'd offer Syaa a beast pup as thanks. Her head shook as she rolled her eyes. "He doesn't need one. Besides.. he's more into plants." She did remember him being rather interested in a plant when they'd first met. "And we don't owe him anything. He threw me into a tree the first time we met. Him carrying me is making up for that." She reached up and flipped her hair behind her shoulder as she started to work the brush through it. Kina had a few tangles she wanted to work out and while her hair was drying she'd make sure it was perfectly straight.
"Also, I kissed him on the cheek. That should be more than enough. And don't you dare tell the others." She shot her mother a pointed look before going to go sit on the couch once more. Since Nin had invited Syaa to stay for dinner she would have to play nice.

It was hot so he went back inside, just as a few ranchers came into view. He didn't see them, but he might have been spotted. The ranch folk in question were sharply of eye and all related. Syya, oblivious continued his parusal of the house, peeking into other doorways but not really leaving the living room. He wondered what had happened to the two ladies.
It was too quiet in there.

"He might like pets! And if we have anything in surplus right now it is pups." She winked at Kina. "We might have a few plants he could have? Tethys might know. He liked all nature, so does Tathyryal."
"I won't tell the others but I'm still glad I saw it." Nin's eyes sparkled with mischief. This was the most exciting development to happen for a very long time. They needed good news!
