Hargitt held out his hand; close fisted except for his pinky. "You have to swear you won't use it." It was the only way he was going to make that concession, but he was willing to meet her halfway on this. If he didn't she was just going to keep needling him for it anyway.

"Sure; you can come with me to check on the traps. I've got some set up around the forest and a few in the river too." It wasn't nearly as exciting as a full on hunt, but he could always hand her a knife to do some skinning and descaling. "And tomorrow we'll wake up early to fish, then we can start tanning some hides to sell."

She was quick to take his pinky with one of hers, a grin spread on her face. "Fine! I won't. I'll let you handle whatever." If she was there with her hammer then it was likely that anyone would seriously consider messing with them. Rajani looked like she was ready to murder people on a good day.

"Yes!" The shifter was clearly pleased with this little win! She moved back so that she could sink back onto the bed. She had to put her boots on if she was going to go outside. While she had no issues going barefoot she had a sneaking suspicion that Hargitt would yell at her. "Does it have to be early? Your evil spawn doesn't exactly let me sleep." She complained. Of course he was already aware of the night time acrobatics the baby did, she'd complained enough about it.

Hargitt could only imagine what others thought of her when Rajani walked past with that hammer over her shoulder and nearing the end of her pregnancy. They would get a few odd looks; more so than usual, but if she were any different they wouldn't be here.

"If we go early we might actually catch something." He bent down to help her with the boots, even if the new ones were slip ons. It wouldn't kill him to be kind no matter how amusing it was to watch her roll about like an egg on a plate. "We can take a cart and some pillows. It'll be nice to have a midday nap anyway." He was more than aware of the babies activities. Hargitt couldn't count the amount of times he'd been woken up because of Rajani's shifting, or complaints.

Once all that was settled he stood up and held an arm out for her to grab hold of. "It's a girl; has to be. She's been around you too long and is making her own rules."

She grumbled about going out early but didn't really protest to it too much. It got her out and about at the very least. When he helped her to put her boots on she seemed to calm down a bit. Slip ons were easier but she still couldn't do much apart from shove her foot into them. Rajani looked at Hargitt with a deadpan stare before she got up off the bed, using his offered hand to get some balance.

His comment of it being a girl made her look at him in horror. While another mother might have looked proud of a daughter acting like them, the shifter was horrified by the thought. "Don't you curse us like that.." She was bad enough, and she was well aware of it, having a mini her running around was such a bad idea. "You take that back. Now." She pointed at him. "It's a very nice little boy who will mind his manners." She tried to undo the jinx he'd given them.

Hargitt smirked. "She'll have that same look in her eye before you do something to get under my skin and everything you've done will be done to you two fold." The thought of a little Rajani, except more of everything, was terrifying. Still, Hargitt had a feeling it wouldn't happen. The men in his family had a history of only producing more boys so he wasn't too worried about having a daughter.

A large, healthy son sure, possibly two at this point, but never a little girl.

"Nope. Definitely two little girls, completely identical, and we'll never know which one set the curtains on fire and which flooded the room trying to put them out." Hargitt was going to tease her about it right up until the birth. He hoped they wouldn't have a hellion like that, but a little spunk wasn't a bad thing. It was healthy; showed spirit and he'd raised more than a few brothers to keep a kid in line.

So long as it was healthy that's all that mattered and right now, all that mattered was keeping Rajani happy.
