“A lot of this relies upon how you breathe and your fingers.” Branna reached over for the ocarina so that he could demonstrate, the teen lifting it expertly to his lips and blowing out a squeaking note. “One sharp puff can cause chaos but if you have even breathing and keep the pressure going then you can make a full melody.” He raised the ocarina to his lips again and started playing, the mystical tune floating throughout the room and surely throughout the manor for anyone else nearby to hear. While it wasn’t his best performance, Branna was supercritical like that, he felt satisfied enough once the melody was finished to hand over the instrument. “See?”

“I see.” Ziya blinked in surprise as he turned the instrument over in his hands once more. This time though he truly was seeing it in a new light with so much potential… “You wouldn’t mind handing this one over to me, would you?” He finally asked as he glanced at his cousin with interest. He most definitely would not mind learning something like this that he could take with him!

“I wouldn’t mind.” Branna chuckled softly as he watched his cousin’s new admiration for the small object. He had cherished it when he first learned the ocarina but he truly loved the zephyr and harp in the room. Those two instruments were the ones that could not be easily replaced whereas he could pick up a new ocarina whenever he traveled next with his family. “I guess since I’ll need to teach you that you’ll have to keep that pillow fort here for a bit longer. I will need help with chores though so I have more time to play.”

Ziya was not slow witted and he was more than willing to agree with Branna’s suggestion. “Deal! I’ll even make some savory bread for a light breakfast in the morning.” He teased with a grin as he clutched the ocarina in his hands. He had always wanted to learn something that was not necessarily related to running a household or survival so this was perfect! An instrument that was portable and not too bulky or high maintenance…he loved it. Ziya grinned towards his cousin again. “Thanks, Branna.”

“You’re welcome. I will need a spotless room whenever you leave later this month.” Teased Branna with a sly smile towards Ziya, “But I suppose it is nice to have company on occasion especially when everyone else is out traveling.” His older cousins were gone, his uncle was out and his own parents and siblings were out and about doing their own things. It was nice to have Ziya around even if he could sometimes be a bundle of chaos in Branna’s life. And sharing music was something that Branna absolutely adored so how could he say no to his cousin’s request?
