It was just the moon.

Elliot had never seen the moon give off so much light before–especially when it wasn’t even full. And yet, it seemed to be glowing.

He’d always liked the night sky; in the city, it was too hard to see much with all the lights, but he’d been out camping, or out on Michael’s boat before. He’d seen the moon, full and bright.

He’d never seen it glow like this.

It felt like it was reaching out for them. The sensation was strange, both warm and cool and the same time, but always comfortable. The light stretched over him, over Atticus–

And then, they were gone.
