The scarred Matorian woman gave out a laugh as well. "I don't have any qualms about taking you in with him. As far as we know you've been the one supplying him with passage here and giving him shelter. Or-" A spark started to light in the barrel of her pistol. Eliazer tensed, knowing her magic was building. "-at least that's what we'll tell 'em."
What was Honi waiting for? The longer she waited the less likely it was going to be for him to provide her enough cover to get out! He very nearly shoved her, but unless she was prepared to run and stalled instead they were both going to get shot. And then she...
What the hell was she thinking?! That stubborn woman! Spirits above, but she wasn't going to give him a choice, was she? As soon as Honi started to run Eliazer tried to do the same. Even though she provided him an opening out of the ring there was no escaping the already loaded pistol and Eliazer's body lurched forward as the shot slammed into his thigh. He knew what she was trying to do; it was exactly what Honi did to the larger hunter. They wanted him to slow down, or stop entirely, but Eliazer pushed through.
The Geian ran as hard as he could, almost as if his leg wasn't screaming, and once he was a good distance away he reached into a satchel at his side. Within moment he'd thrown a handful of pouches out onto the road behind them causing a flare of thick, noxious smoke to obscure the air around them. As long as they kept moving it wouldn't affect the two of them, but those left behind...
...well, the effects would kick in soon. First nausea then dizziness. It wouldn't kill them, but it would buy him some time to figure out what the hell Honi was trying to do.

Honi nearly stumbled when she saw Eli lurch from the impact, but he kept coming... She'd hesitated a little too long. The man she'd dodged was flat on the ground, only now picking himself back up to swipe at Eli, though he missed that as well. That was when Honi remembered... DUH!
She swung out a leg to spin in place and turn back without losing too much momentum. A ball of lightning flickered between her hands and grew to the size of a large apple. She'd never used it for anything other than her art, but desperate times... Wincing at herself, she sent the ball toward the cloud of smoke. It instantly spread and crackled, bolts shooting wildly toward the obscured group. She doubted that it would hit anyone, she hoped it wouldn't, but at least it should make them pause before charging through.
Time to focus. Where were they headed? Where could they go?! At the least, they needed to get off the main road before that smoke cleared. "Eli!" she called out while she reached to grab his hand and yanked him toward one of the side alleys. There were many places to lay low in the maze of alleys there to catch their breath and make a better plan.

The sharp smell of ozone hit Eliazer moments before the sight of Honi's lightning ball did. He very nearly stopped entirely, going so far as to limp to a slower pace just to watch, before picking up the pace again with a hard grind of his teeth. Her mother had mentioned that Honi was magically gifted, and of course he'd seen her work, but this was something else entirely.
This was a raw, primal thing that unnerved him as much as it made him terribly jealous.
He looked back over his shoulder just long enough to see the sparks popping through the smoke like a storm and a few surprised cries followed. Unlike Honi, Eliazer wanted them to get hurt. If they did then they wouldn't be as quick to give chase!
When she reached for his hand, he opened his mouth in a voiceless cry and stumbled into the alleyway, bumping into Honi in the process. He was trying his hardest to move with the injury in his thigh, but damn it burned. For a moment he closed his eyes, taking a chance to steady himself and take a deep, steadying breath before opening them and looking around.
An escape route...something quick and...there! Eliazer grabbed Honi's shoulders and turned her around, then pointed to a stable just across the way. A few Xaraan, one with a saddle and the other without. He didn't know much about Tendaji's creatures, but Eliazer knew them to be incredibly fast runners and he knew they couldn't stay hidden for long.
They needed to leave; now.

Honi's heart was pounding in her chest, dizzy from the rushing adrenaline. She tried to think of the next step, but all she could see was the scarred woman's eyes. She would rather face a pair of angry snaptrotters than meet that woman's eyes again! And the lightning... just a deterrent, but the hunters would see it as nothing less than an attack. Part of her wanted to go back and lie down like a wounded animal. Maybe that would show she hadn't meant to harm anyone? Then she looked at Eli as he directed her around. He'd been hit... He didn't look good.
That got her attention better, and she refocused on their path. They couldn't go back. Only forward. They couldn't afford to hesitate.
Xaraan! With just a nod, she hooked Eli's arm to help him over to the stable. They would move faster if they were separate, but being on one would still be faster than those head hunters were on foot. "Here.. on this," she panted out, pushing Eli toward the one with the saddle. Once he was secured, she would climb up in front of him and pull his arms to hug around her waist. "Hold tight." It had been a while since she had ridden on a xaraan, but she could remember enough to get the creature going quickly. She wasn't sure where they were going so quickly, but she knew which way not to go and that was the important part.

Eliazer's blood was boiling. Someone had set him up, but who? An old mark, or a partner? Someone who had seen him as easy prey or maybe even someone inside the security sector themselves? There was so much he didn't understand that it was driving him insane! And Honi...Now that she'd attacked them they would want to take her back to Belrea as an accomplice regardless of why she'd defended herself.
Figure it out later; right now you have to get out of there.
He couldn't return her to her family anymore than he could clear his name. At that moment they were both stuck with an impossible decision, but life was making it for them. By the time he'd made it to the Xaraan Eli's hobbling was holding them both back, and even when he'd climbed up his limbs were shaking. Thank the Gods Honi knew what she was doing because once Eli's arms were around her waist they were off.
