"Shall we go then?"Edge set off with little hesitation. Jumping off the roof he landed on nearby rooftops heading in the direction indicated by his superior. He would have to consider along the way what he was planning to do in the forest...

*the forest around Kaida was quiet...just too quiet...*

*a voice announced from nowhere...*

voice: haste makes waste...

*along her speedy way through the bush, Kaida had set off multiple delayed wire traps that would have been unnoticeable in her hurry...suddenly, without warning, many branches from the other side of the tree swung back to their original extended positions, rapidly pulling multiple wires...each wire had been carefully set and angled to Shunketsu's prior strategy...they all would have caught Kaida from seemingly everywhere, slamming her against the trunk of the tree...1 wire around her forehead protector, another around her shoulders, a third at her upper abdomen, a 4th around her lower abdomen, which also tightly bound her arms and hands to the side of the tree, disabling her hands from performing any jutsu...3 more wires were equally set around her legs, trapping her in a sitting position against the tree...*

*a clone of Shunketsu landed on the branch directly in front of her...it then released a small wave a chakra via the cloned namigan, which would disrupt any possible chakra control within a small radius around him and Kaida...he then walked up to her, and squatted down to face her...*

clone: one of the most basic rules of a ninja...come in knowing what you're up against...hmm...I wonder if any of your fellow competitors will be merciful enough to forgive your head start and untie you...this team is labeled with a 4 out of 5 star difficulty...and you were assigned here because the academy believed you could stand up to the challenge...don't disappoint me...

*Shunketsu's clone then jumped into the foliage above and disappeared...*

Kinoru quickly jumped of the roof and on to the next Kao Following, he yelled "I'll be there soon, with Koa's help we'll find him in no time" Kinoru and Kao continued to jump until they were standing beside Edge "If there's anything that Buki sensei taught us, it's that we need to work together." Kinoru took out a small peice of hair "This fell off Shunkatsu sensei" Kinoru held the hair up to Kao's nose, the young wolf took off , Kinoru started running after the wolf "Come on Edge, he's got the scent."

Kaida realized what she had done as she was knocked up against the tree and suddenly pinned to it. Wearing her forehead protecter around her thigh and without the protection there the wire cut right into her forehead pinning her head against the tree. Even through this she did not scream.

Pinned against the tree Kaida was not without hope. Her long slender fingers could reach to her hips but just barely as her hands were pinned to the tree at about the wrist. She slid a kunai from her hip with a special tag attatched to it. Slipping it from its place at her hips she used what little force she could to place it in the tree. In her time as a nin and as a exploding tag maker she knew the value of a tag that could explode without use of chakra... She rubbed her fingers over the tag which would explode not too far from her. The explosion would be fairly small in size but enough to blow apart one of the wires that held her captive... the one around her lower abdomen that had her hands pinned.

She turned her face away from where the explosion would occur and counting down the few moments she tried to pull her hand as close to her as possible under the binding wires trying to do as minimal damage as possible. The small explosion gave away her position to the rest of the world but she didn't care.. she wanted her freedom. It was enough to burn the fabric off her arm and enough to give a slight burn to the flesh itself but it was also enough to snap the single wire that kept her from being able to get rid of the other wires.

She saw her team mates not too far off but expected nothing from them as she tried to get herself undone. Once free of the binds that held her close she was covered in cuts, a burn up her arm and on part of her leg and a gash on her forehead from where the wire had cut into her. She went to ground level and pulled from her vest bandaging for her head.... quickly placing that on she removed her headband from her thigh and placed it over the bandaging to hide it. Her field bandaging was simple enough to do for now. "Sensei is more clever than he looks...."

Edge looked ahead at the forest and pondered what else there could be in way of traps to stop them. If there were wires as some of the first traps who knew what else there could be. "Kinoru is it possible that Shunketsu sensei would know of our abilities before setting this challenge? I mean could he know you have tracking skills and set a trap if we follow the scent? With all these traps he could have set another one with his scent?"

Kaida glanced to her teammates but said nothing as she adjusted the bandaging under her headband. She looked about for a moment then glanced back to her team thinking if she let them go first into whatever at least she, the healer, would be safe... "We need to get moving..."

*Kaida was never meant to be kept pinned to the tree...he had to give her some chance...bait would have been the proper term...bait to lead them all to one spot, as there were multiple paths through the forest...as Kinoru ran off on his own towards the scent, - you'd think they'd learn - a pitfall trap would send him falling about 10 feet below...along with his pet...*

*inside the pitfall with Kinoru was this puppet against the wall...he had drill-like appendages sticking out of its arms and was struggling to lean in and drill through Kinoru...however, very thin wires were holding back the puppet...*

*if the team took the time to look around...small glints of reflected sunlight could be seen all around the hole...newly set up as the falling action sprung them into position from their dormant states...however...there were 5 wires set up around the hole, but only 4 were visible holding back the puppet around its limbs...1 of the 5 wires seemed obviously to lead directly towards the puppet, into the chest of the puppet, while the other 4 seemed to head towards tree branches...the 4 wires did seem double the thickness of the 1 though...*

*If the team carelessly tripped these wires, they would snap, and Kinoru would most likely suffer some damage...if Kinoru would attempt to jump out, he'd most likely trip a wire upon exiting and again, set the puppet loose...it was like a carefully planned bomb...cutting the wrong wire could lead to death, but the correct one may have some effect...who knows...*

*a small squirrel was watching from a tree branch...*

*if they were to get pass this obstacle, the path seemed clear of traps for the time being...*

"Well I can't really ess anything, but I sure can smell something. Kao can too, but it sensei. It smells,I don't really know, but it's defenetly on natural in the forest, thats it I can't take it anymore, there's only oneway we can trake him better. Beast Man Clone."After the justu Kinoru and Kao started sniffing around, though you couldn't tell who was who. "It smells kinda like metal, but it's faint, like somethings covering up the smell, like dirt of leaves......"
