Chi I hope not.
Spirits above, he didn't want any of his children to be like him. Even the thought caused Callum's heart to still. "You'll be better than me." Callum crouched to press his lips to the top of Casimir's head. Seeing that face, so full of hope and wonder, was like a blade itself. On one side it filled him with so much warmth that Callum couldn't begin to replicate it any other way.
And on the other it fueled his imposter syndrome. Somedays he worried that his son would see through him to the rot that lay behind Callum's glam. "I better get moving. Are you coming to watch or are you going back to Baba?"

(9/10) Once again, Casimir was unaware of his father's worries, and instead preened at the kisses, eyes crinkling with the force of his smile. He wanted to reach up and slot his tiny hand in with his father's, but he understood that he needed to get his swords, and get ready to dance, so instead he held his hands against his sides. That didn't stop him from following in his steps like a hopeless duckling.
"I'll watch!" he insisted, horrified by the suggestion that he would miss it for anything in the world!

"Okay." Callum couldn't help, but to chuckle. The boy look positively offended by the suggestion and honestly, he would have been just as heartbroken to see him off. He hadn't been able to baby his oldest children because of the circumstances surrounding their youth so he'd tried with the triplets and...half succeeded, thanks in part to their bond with one another. Calliana was such an independent little lady that she only wanted hugs on her terms, but Casimir....
Callum didn't miss an opportunity to keep the little one by his side.
Stepping back into his dressing tent, Callum reached for four performance swords. While they were still sharpened and very much weaponry, they were also decorated in such a way that they wouldn't be practical for the everyday adventurer. When he came across one that had been properly sheathed - and tied, with a leather strap no less - he held it out to Casimir. "Can you carry this one?" Maybe if the boy got a feel for the blade he would know the importance of it.

(10/10) Callum had never been the sort of adult to shake his child off when he was getting too clingy, so it wasn't as if there was an inherent fear in Casimir that he was in his father's way. Still, he padded along after him, delighted.
All of the swords in his father's tent were strictly off limits, so he kept his grubby little hands to himself - though his eyes hungrily took in the decorative blades. He wasn't a fighter - unlike his parents, he'd never been in the position where defending himself was a necessity, so to him they were just beautiful things to admire.
When one was actually passed to him, his little face went red as he held it, peering down at it with admiration and awe. "Y-yes! Yes, I'll carry it for you papa!" He said, voice gone squeaky with his excitement.

Oh, spirits, he was going to have to speak with Nimueh tonight after the children went to sleep. Casimir was going to have to be trained soon. Besides the fact that Callum wanted to do it, if he had decided not to the boy would have run around with a knife anyway and ended up stabbing himself or his sister. There wasn't much in the way of swordsman in the Geian countryside, so Casimir would learn the same haphazard, lightfooted style that Callum practiced.
....Chi help them all.
