Solo: The Time Has Come

Liylasa had no misgivings on what she wished to be when she grew up. She'd been working for it since she was small, after all. The desire to be a world famous treasure hunter was always the goal, and now that she was really getting old enough to set out on her adventures she knew the time had come to leave home. Her father was from Zena, and Liylasa figured that would be her first stop on her world traveling adventure once she left home. She wanted to treasure hunt in the mountains and look for things in the snow, a very different landscape than she was used to in Matori. She'd mentioned it to her father before, but that had been several years ago now. While he knew she wanted to be a treasure hunter, she hadn't exactly told him her plans on leaving the nest fairly soon. It was why she approached him with the conversation now. Her father was typically a busy man, working hard to provide for the three of them, but she had managed to catch him at a time when he wasn't rushing between work.
"What is it, Liylasa?" he'd questioned as soon as she entered, her jittery energy always noticeable to him as she moved about the room. Liylasa had found another fun treasure in her search this morning, and placed it next to the other things she always brought to him. The collection was fairly large at this point, ranging from shells and rocks that she gathered when she was younger to nicer gems she'd found here recently.
"I want to talk to you about something! My goals, really!" Liylasa explained, that same enthusiasm she always had bubbling up as she considered her goal.
"Go on then," he grinned, motioning for her to sit next to him. She perched on the edge of his chair, looking at the man she got most of her traits from very closely. They both had the same restless energy, but her father had picked to settle down instead of continuing his odd jobs in Oba. Liylasa wasn't the same. She wanted to travel!
"Well, I'm going to be leaving soon. To Zena. Like I'd said before. I want to treasure hunt up there and maybe see if I can meet some relatives. Maybe. I just uh....wanted to tell you my goals! Because it's been a while since we talked about it!" she continued to say, waiting for a response. She was treasure hunting in Zena whether he liked it or not, but she would have liked to have her father's approval on the matter if possible. He didn't usually tell her no so she had a good idea what his answer was, but she was trying to be respectful by telling him.
"That time already?" he sighed, glancing up at the ceiling for a moment before wandering over to a small chest in the corner. "I knew it was coming soon, but even now it still surprises me." Her father chuckled and turned back to her, holding up a small wrapped package. He passed it over, the heaviness of it surprising her as she held it.
"What is it?" she questioned, lifting it up to try and see through the package.
"Open it, silly. It's something to help on your journey." Liylasa nodded and pulled the package open, grinning as she unfolded a very sturdy looking leather journal and quill to match it. She'd never had a journal so nice before, her other one just a few scraps of paper to scribble her notes on.
"This is wonderful!!" she exclaimed, hugging her father close.
"I better hear of your adventures far and wide, and you better write them down, understood? And maybe a visit every now and again wouldn't be so bad either," he teased, patting Liylasa on the shoulder. She gave him a hearty nod, promising of course to visit and make her name known as a great treasure hunter.
