And then it just.
Exploded.
Into dust.
Thank ******** quiet, but nonetheless heartfelt, "what the <********>," hissed from behind Ancha's teeth as she relaxed her posture post-monster-death. What the ******** was all of that? The monster, the magic, the water s**t? Her uniform?
One thing at a time.
Perhaps it was a good thing for both Faust and Hydor that Ancha was not terribly inclined to get running. There were two people--and a talking cat was definitely a 'people', she decided--right here that had a chance in hell of explaining it all to her. But perhaps unfortunately for the two of them, that meant that Ancha, indeed, possessed Questions.
Very many of them. A lot of them, even. She took a deep breath. The water began to fade away in parts, taking with it the ticking in her throat and eyes. That helped, but she still needed to know, "hey, can either of you explain what the ******** all of that was about?" She gestured where the monster had been and fixed them both with a look. "And you have to know people are going to want to defend themselves against... whatever that thing was." She had a feeling it would have just tried to eat a normal person, but surely there was a middle ground between reinforcing helplessness and letting someone get eaten.
