Somewhat less distracted by the critter than the two ladies. Rex lifted his head and surveyed the clouds. He might not be a ranger but occasionally he would deliver books for his mother. As books disliked getting wet he had become rather good at reading the skies of his home. Matori was his home, he detested Belrea
“Uh guys, its about to get bad again.” His arm hair had started to lift. “Really bad I think.”

Nin had just spotted the injured foot and was calculating just how she would proceed with healing it when the young man’s words penetrated her thoughts.
If you are that good with he weather have you considered a storm summoner I think they call it a tempest mage or some such? Might play right along with your natural instincts.”
“Lets get him to shelter then, head for the tree line.”

They had just reached the dubious shelter of trees which would no doubt be just fine after the rest of them would be blown away, when the sky seemed to crack with a fury she had never felt before. Trees bowed and the win rieved at their eyes and hair.
A branch splintered above and she had just enough time to shout as it crashed into Nin, part of it bouncing off of the Bushi’s shell. Their instructor went down rather hard.

It all happened so fast one moment Nin was beside him talking about a different path and babbling on about Bushi healing techniques and the nest instant she was gone. A crumpled heap beneath the branch and amid the cries of the panicked bushi. He heard Akea shout. He shoved the branch off her and was relieved only slightly to see that Nin had likely just been knocked out judging on the goose egg forming on her high forehead.

Just like that it had been lights out as the unkind branch put her mind through a hard reset.
In her dream she was in her house at home having tea with her gorgeous but sassy husband. She complained to him and glaring again or she was going to have his hide. They are already ha d biter no need to risk another.

Now they had two wounded creatures to take care of and what felt like the wrath of the gods clawing at them from above.
“We need a cave! A lean too will do nothing in this!”: She had to shouat at the top of her lungs right in Rex’s ear.
She scooped up Nin, her height making it easier to carry the well muscled earthling.. Problem was it was hard to see in the rain. “Help.”

Rex moved so that he stood right in front of Akea. He moved slowly ahead of her looking for caves in a nearby cliffside. It would have to be big enough to shelter them all plus the Bushi. The downpour earlier had been a warning, what was coming would be much worse.
Miraculously they found a suitable cave that had been a ranger waypoint, judging from a few supplies and blackness on the cave roof. They set Nin in and went back for the Bushi.

Blissfully unaware of the storm Nin slept on occasionally her eyes flickered open to see a strange tableaux in fron of a small fire.
She vaguely felt a cool cloth on her forehead but soon after tese semi aware moemnts occurred a splitting pain in her head drove her back into the black of unconsciousness.
She didn’t have enough wits to even from a question

They brought the Bushi back just as the real teeth of the storm ravaged the cliff face. They had found their improved shelter just in time.
“Boy are we ever lucky.” She saw the fire glint off the green crystals adorning his skin. They were the only thing breaking up the Monotony of blue on his skin.
Such a strange and interesting mix he was.
“How did you know about the storms?”
They had taken care of the Bushi as much as possible. Nin would have to do the rest when she recovered.

“I don’t know if its due to my mix of lightning and water or due to the fact that I was born and raised here but I can feel and see with a mix of experience how bad a storm will be. I think years fo practice helped too.:”
Maybe Nin had been right and she should consider a magic path. Oh he didn’t’ know really.. He guessed now that it was a toss up between that and the twin swords or one sword. Ugh. Still 3 out of all was better than all out of all.

Nin groaned she was on her way to waking up, drawn by the quiet voices and crackling fire.
What she saw first was the great long neck of the Bushi curled protectively about her. The beast blinked a great contemplative eye at her then curled back up to continue his nap.
Taking that as a cue she remained still and silent and listened. Her head HURT.

She watched him consideringly, sparring the occasional glance over at Nin as she groaned evidently fighting the great bump on her head for consciousness.
“You are not limited to only one you know, you can practice multiple things. It is ga give and take not all or nothing.” She smiled brightly at him. “As was explained to me not long ago. I wish I had your affinity.” She loved storms.

Judging from the glimmer of longing in her eye.
"I'm right shite at magic for he most part. But that is what study buddies and practice is for isnt it?"
A part of him really wanted her to say yes.

She smiled and there it was, what they both wanted to do. Staring at them full frontal like a janarim with a toothache.
She circumspectly rubbed the bump on her forehead.
a) teaching was hard and apparently painful
b) Kiyelt was going to laugh
c) She had not expected the hurricane.
Nin reached out a hand and stroked the Bushi in thanks for its patient wisdom.

She was exulted. It finally truly clicked. It felt right. he would be a deadly magic practitioner that could bbq bad guys with a bolt of lightning, she could work with the sea to create storms and mist and other cool things. She hoped her gods would be proud of her choices.
