She heard the call and stealthily began her retreat. They reconnoitered while they were making full, quiet, steam away from the poachers camp.
"I have a suspicion Ushi," she said amidst the smell of cactus flowers that by force bloom at night, "That our antics on the flying lizard heights seems to have bore fruit." She waggled her eyebrows at him.

They were far enough away that he felt he could allow himself a moment to stop and just absorb what she had just told him.
Malibu stopped and looked smugly at him like the snaptrotter had known before everyone else.
"Sae, I...I'm going to be a Father?" he needed it spelled out for him.

She turned in the saddle as well and gave him a look that mirrored her mounts. She was smug.
"Yes."
"I'm afraid we might have to cut this tour short and send your brother or Father out here to this place instead, or we could do the regular thing and bring our findings to the authorities, I did find a few pieces of harvested perzi crystals and I took one as proof."
"I won't be able to do this without you, no matter how good your Mother is at healing."
She flicked her hair and nudged Malibu into motion again.

"Yes I think we have enough evidence for the regular authorities even," If she really was pregnant then they would both be distracted for a few years at the very least. Distraction in situations like this lead to disaster.
That was the last thing that oculd happen to them now. He was in shock and probably would remain so until his Mother confirmed her pregnancy.
He was so excited he couldn't take the grin off his face.

She was grinning too. They were to have a family and nothing was going to take that away from her.
She and Ushi would be there for their children as her parents were unable to be, through her, her family would live on. She would make sure of it. She wanted this more than she ever thought she could want anything. A family with him and his giant family. Her kids would never be alone like she had been.
