He remembered being nervous after he’d been human again. Remembered the fog of memories that he couldn’t seem to shake. It took weeks, months, to clear up some things. He felt like he was second guessing who he was the whole time, and even now–
Well, now, things were different.
He had friends. People to support him. He knew he’d made the right decision.
He didn’t know if she had the same support system he’d had, and on the off chance that she didn’t, he wasn’t going to leave her to figure all of this out on her own.
“Most people I know don’t want to become a youma. I don’t think you were weird so much as just really, really hurt. You seemed like you were having a really hard time. You seem happier now, but–”
He sucked in a breath and forced himself to have a little more confidence. “Well, my food’s good, so I don’t blame it for putting you in a good mood. And you’re welcome to come back any time you want. You made a really big, really brave decision and that’s worth celebrating. We should go get some cake or something some time. I’d love to hear all about Nectaris, and about Moon Knights, too. Maybe we can make a night of it sometime. If you want!”
