"Nah. The crew is fairly harmless." Quipped Ephrym with a grin as they continued along. He was happy though with the reaction to his horrible joke, his expression brightening the moment it finally registered with Adenah. "Thank you, I try my best." He replied with a chuckle though he realized he probably should refrain from saying too many before they either tired of him or Adenah pulled another muscle by laughing so hard. They were already injured enough and he would have to ask Fran to look over them. They had about five days of sailing to get to Matori and it would be a shame if someone died on such an easy trip.
"Fair enough. I'll show you to the room and then we can grab food." Ephrym gestured for them to follow him, his steps leading them below deck and around a corner to a hallway that stretched along the southern side. "It's a bit quieter down here with only a few of the crew occupying the cabins. We try to keep at least two empty in case of guests." The one at the very end had a pale door, the cream striking against the darker silver wood. A brass key twisted in the lock opened it and revealed a small but quaint cabin with a hammock, a small wash basin and chest for storage. Shelves had been built into the walls for anything else with a writing desk tucked neatly into the corner by a round window that could be unlatched during fair weather. "Hopefully it's cozy enough. I'll have another bed brought in soon and we can place it alongside the empty wall there."
"Feel free to leave your belongings and take the key." He held it out towards Adenah. "We can grab food when you're ready."

When it seemed like Dris'rynne was starting to slow Adenah softened her own pace to match. She kept her attention on the Captain and their conversation, but she knew the adrenaline of the past few days must be getting to the shifter. She was in far better shape than Adenah herself, but she was also twice her age. As they walked through the hallway she ran her fingers along the smooth wood, marveling at how much better kept this ship was than the one they'd taken here.
"It's perfect." And really, it was. As soon as she came back tonight she'd likely crash, but the room was so nice. She murmured a few things to her mother, then nodded and allowed the woman to get settled. "I'll bring something back for her, but I'm good to go if you are. I'm too nosey to stay seated. The last ship we were one wasn't nearly this nice or spacious." She kindly took the key and slipped it into a pouch on her hip.

"Good to hear." Ephrym nodded as he had the feeling the shifter would want to stay behind. It was partly why he was glad that they had suggested the room first instead of pressing forward. "I can ask for a basket of food to help keep you through the night and tomorrow so you can both rest up. It looks like you'll need it." Honestly the coin that Adenah had given him last time was plenty enough so it was only courteous to offer them refreshments and make certain they were resting well during this trip back to Matori. His first real passengers other than the crew they had and Ephrym was determined to not get a bad reputation. More a matter of pride than anything considering they weren't your typical passenger vessel anyways.
"Feel free to explore then once you can." Ephrym chuckled. "As long as you don't break into our storerooms anything is fair game though some do prefer to keep to themselves." He started down the hall, this time leading towards the center of the lower decks were tables and benches rested with food that was already being served for tonight's meal. Fresh steaming stew and bread decorated the tables along with other delicacies that he realized had been brought from the nearby Yaeli markets. The cook was surely enjoying the break since they could bring in fresh supplies from port and saving what they had in storage for the real venture. "The Misty Maiden is my pride and joy so I do hope you enjoy your trip with us. She's new, but I hope to keep her like this for many years to come." Only time would tell, right? Still, Ephrym refused to even think of Misty Maiden being like some of those other ships he had witnessed. It was part of the reason he dealt with the wealthy patrons he had in the first place, an unfortunate necessity for keeping things running as much as he hated it.

"I don't know that I'll get that curious. I'm sure once I settle in I'll be quietly napping in the cabin most of the trip." Of course she'd love to spend a fair amount of time on deck and thoroughly exploring the vessel, but Adenah wasn't a fool. She knew she needed the rest.
Now that she didn't have to worry over her mother's welfare Adenah was able to fully look at things as she passed. Certain areas of the flooring were obviously the favored footpaths, but even then they wouldn't have been visible if she weren't actively looking. How would it be to walk down this same hall once their journey was underway? The last trip had been so choppy she stayed stationary for most of it, but what about this time?
"She's a well kept beauty so I'm sure you'll be together for a lifetime." Gods above, did that smell good! She lifted her nose to get a good whiff and came out of it with a smile. "If you keep being this nice to me I might have to stick around. Unless that's poison in that pot it'd be a hard temptation to pass."

"Not that I minded you explorin' but that was what I was hoping to hear." She needed the rest to heal up after all. "We have an older geian lady with us by the name of Fran who is our medic. She'll come check in on you in the morning." He would make certain of that. It would be less worrisome for Fran to go to them rather than them trying to figure out the ship and accidentally getting caught up in the morning rush as the crew made to sail back towards Matori.
"Thanks." Ephrym smiled. "Here's hoping for that." He chuckled at the compliment before motioning for Adenah to take a seat so that he could leave her with a healthy portion of soup and bread. "I'll go to the kitchen and bring you a basket of food while I have another crewmember get that bed for your room. If it turns out you wanna linger on the ocean then I'm willing to pick up a good knife thrower for our trip." He teased with a grin before moving to leave her to the meal while he took care of the rest.
