Jet could pick up that there was always something off about how Fausite felt whenever he spoke. Jet wondered if he just had a voice that was grating to listen to. He didn’t know what else he could do to offer chance for conversation. He hated small talk. He didn’t really like talking about himself, either. Not unless asked. And maybe because of that, he didn’t like prying into other people’s lives unless they offered some insight first.
When Fausite had no other questions about his offer of caution, Jet let out a small breath through his nose. Not quite exasperated, but maybe a little weary. He didn’t try making friends. He assumed people had their own lives to deal with. But he hoped he could at least be relied on. Since Faustite gave no indication if he would or not, Jet didn’t bother pushing the offer. Request? He wasn’t sure. All of the above.
“If that’s all, General. I know you’re busy,” he nodded as an offer of friendly dismissal -- if Faustite actually cared for things like that. It seemed to be a case by case basis. At least he wasn’t rude like Bloodstone.

Faustite struggled to make sense of the conversation — to predict what Jet was looking for in his answers. He had come to dispense information on Sylvite and go about his day, as he knew the Sovereigns to be far busier than any given General, but the conversation had thence taken so many turns that he became lost in it. He had been asked why he was hard on himself, then disdained immediately afterward, which only confirmed to Faustite the need to remain hard on himself. And now that he mentioned senshi from other worlds? Faustite didn't know where to go with any of that.
Now Jet was the one giving him an out with the declaration that he was busy, and Faustite wondered if that was a facetious comment. Nevertheless, he kept his tongue; better to say too little than to say too much. After all, it seemed that Jet knew far more about the Sylvite situation than Faustite had been able to uncover.
And since Jet had need of none of his strengths at the moment, Faustite thought it best to take that implied dismissal and see himself out. There was much to do, after all, and Faustite, evidently, had far more to prove for himself.
So he stood, and gave as much of a bow as his mechanical middle would allow. "Leave you to your projects, then." Better that he stay busy with his own collection of tasks, though an unplaceable leaden feeling had begun settling into his mood. If nothing else, he could report to Taenite that he weathered another conversation.
He left quietly, his metal heels announcing his departure.guine fin, thank you for the rp! heart
