“Looks like calculus. I had a break period after sleep study. What about you?” Trent replied to Maya. He checked the time; it was about time to head to their next classes. He luckily knew where the building was since he had found his classes earlier.

“You don’t have to be alone. I’ll visit when I have time. I promise.” He said, looking back at Cloud. The garden seemed like a quiet place, and didn’t seem to have much traffic coming through it. Maybe because everyone was afraid of Cloud. Trent didn’t know the extent of what she was ordered to do, or how everyone on campus knew, but he didn’t get that vibe from talking to her. He gave her a smile before taking his leave.

“Hope you have a good day in Bio! Maybe we’ll have some other classes together.” Trent said as He and Maya made their way towards their next classes. The rest of his day was back-to-back classes until late afternoon. He figured he would stop by and see Cloud after his last class, if she was still at the garden. The day seemed to crawl by as each class was a similar introduction to new curriculum. Classes seemed like they would be like normal college, at least for Trent’s schedule. He overheard other students talking about classes that dealt with honing one’s abilities, classes involving combat, and other practical uses pending on what their ‘talents’ were.

Trent’s last class let out. The sun was beginning to set and there was a cool breeze going through the campus. He made his way back to the garden where the big tree was. He looked around but didn’t see Cloud immediately. He took a seat near where Cloud was last sitting, figuring he would wait for a bit to see if she was nearby.

“Nope. Not lost. I told you I’d visit.” Trent replied with a smile. He looked at the sky, the setting sun creating a warm gradient of colors above the campus buildings and trees in the garden. “How was your day?” Trent didn’t quite know what to say or ask, but his curiosity of Cloud made him want to get to know her more and see why people were so afraid of her, regardless of her past.

Maya saw Lana walking ahead of her after their last classes were over. With a mischievous grin she caught up to her quickly, reached out and grabbed Lana's arm, sending her calming energy. She watched as Lana's skin flickered in and out of visibility before staying visible. "Yes! It worked! I think." Lana looked at her wide eyed before sighing.

"Yea, it worked, what's up?" Lana asked.

"Why'd you leave the garden so fast?" Maya asked.

Lana looked up as her face got warm. "I lost control cuz I got nervous about her killing someone. It's embarrassingly annoying that when I'm nervous or startled I go invisible unintentionally till my heart rate goes down, then I'm in control again." She explained, looking back at Maya.

"Well, let's go back to the garden, I'll hold your hand to keep you calm, and you can get to know who she is today." Maya smiled, before pulling Lana back toward the garden.

Cloud took a few steps forward but turned to look behind her. The two girls from before made an appearance on the pathway.
"Follow" she suggested
She went to the path a little ahead of the girls and kept going down it. Eventually it turned into dirt and then it went away.
When Cloud stopped she was standing on sand in front of a huge lake.
"lots of water" she told Trent "I sometimes go to my room. Near boundary of school"

"no" Cloud said "Just me, alone."
There was a soft flapping of wings and then a man landed in the sand. He smiled invitingly at everyone. He approached Cloud and looked her over.
"who are your friends?" he asked her
She looked puzzled for a moment and then looked at the three people with her. She pointed to each person.
"Trent. Maya. Lana" she said "New."
He sighed just a little.
"You still don't talk much" he sounded disappointed
"Nobody to talk to" she said with little care
"You need better clothes too and I bet you haven't gone to any class" he said digging into her a bit "Have you at least been eating? You have to take care of yourself"
"I eat some" she said as her hands started shaking just a little
She shoved them back into her pockets.
"I'm sorry. You're not going to be punished. We don't do that here remember" he sounded sad.
He gently reached out and touched her cheek. Cloud stayed perfectly still and watched him unblinking.
"You seem pale" he said "You feeling sick"
Cloud shrugged and let out a soft breath. She hadn't realized she'd been holding it in.
"Friends?" she pointed to the others.
The man chuckled and turned away from Cloud realizing he'd unintentionally ignored them.
"Hello sorry my students" he said "I am headmaster Korvo. Pleased to meet you"
He was dressed smartly in a tailored dark blue suit. His tie was loose around his neck though. His hair was black, short around his ears, and a tad longer up top. It was slicked back with a bit of gel. His green eyes were gentle. He stood a bit tall at six feet but he wasn't very slender. You could tell even beneath his suit that he had plenty of muscle.

Lana felt her face grow hot, embarrassed by her judgment about Cloud killing someone. She was guessing from the conversation with the headmaster that Cloud may have been forced into something bad, was needy and had no one. As fast as the flush of hot red colored her cheeks they cooled but there was no breeze, Maya's hand gripped Lana's as she looked at her with a hesitant but grateful smile.

"Seems like she's full of surprises and secrets." Maya smiled, looking at Trent then the headmaster and Cloud. "Can we do something to help?" She asked.
